I am guessing the barcode will be different for every game on the app so I would say no you can't do that. Plus you can't screenshot your barcode either, when you do it comes up with a note stating that screenshots will not work to gain entry. I am curious as to how this can be the case unless it is scanning your phone at the same time but then how can a membership card work........ My brain hurts.

Just realised why, it's a QR code not a bar code so every game will definitely be a new QR code.

I wonder if you have to download a separate QR code for each VFL match as well

If you have to use the app to get in then I would say yes.

On a related topic I have got some strange emails from the membership depts managed presumably by the ticketing companies.

First was last week encouraging me to renew my MFC membership which was done 4 months ago. Yesterday I got one asking me to join the North Melbourne tipping comp. The footer said I had registered to receive updates from North Melbourne which of course I have never done.

In these days of cyber hacks you wonder how secure and maintained your data is. Not to mention where it is

Do screen shots work for Ticketmaster codes?

Not sure Loges, could always try it at the footy.

The Ticketmaster system doesn't seem as easy as Ticketek where you can just forward a SMS for extra tickets. You have to send to their email for Ticketmaster, just doesn't seem as simple

i believe (but don't quote me) that during covid lots of people transferred using screen shots. at least that's what i remember

I got the nm email too , and unsubscribed , I too am wondering . Are there others . Maybe a seperate thread . Not everyone reads every thread.

I have yet to receive my membership card (which i ordered as a back up - 50% of games i went to my phone would not scan though the turnstiles and i had to go via a person who scanned with a hand held device - as obviously others had to do given there was person at each gate for exactly that purpose - so bloody annoying as it involved basically lining up twice)

Has anyone else not yet received their card (nb: i paid my membership last Nov)?

Did you register? I hd no idea you had to register, but luckily I read on here that you need to opt in to get the pack. I called them last week to opt in, and apparently it is on the way, although the recorded message says 4 to 6 weeks.

I tried to download the tickets via the app, but kept getting an error. I tried logging into the club website, but it wasn't recognising my password. I tried resetting my password, but I was not getting the password reset email.

I was pretty p**d off by that stage and called the membership hotline, and they tell me that my issues were due to me being set to do not solicit.

Now I can't remember doing that, but do not solicit means no marketing emails. I did not get the email telling me I had to register to get the pack, I was not able to access my account on the club website or change my password, and most importantly I was not able to access game day tickets.

Absolute madness, paying for a premium membership and not being able to go the footy because I was set to do not solicit.

Not sure if i registered. But i def picked the get hard card option. And voucher not scarf. No pack as of yet, which given i paid up in no last year seems crazy.

But i just checked and i could still download my electronic ticket on my app on my phone, which i've done.

So no issue getting into the ground thank goodness - well except for the fact there is 50 50 chance i won't be able to go through the turnstiles (it drives me spare waving my phone under the scanner waiting for that stupid green GO sign to flash - a situation made more frustrating when invariably the 16 year old attendee standing at the gate looks pityingly  at me like i only recently discovered the internet)

Yeah, I hear ya. It would be worth calling the membership hotline and seeing where it is.

I did screen shots of my barcode last year and it worked every time. I could always use the app if there was a problem, but never needed to.

Forwarded screen shot to mates when I couldn't go, no problems

I bought tickets for next week at the gabba and they have removed the option to print tickets at home. I mean, wtf, it's my resources being expended and I like to have a fail-safe confirmation in my hand. It's like they don't want people to attend. How have they added so much complexity to something that was and should be so simple.

Some of the comments telling people “it’s simple” are so condescending

I work in this space and it’s a totaL shonkfest (to borrow a term from my year 12 Gisborne SC English teacher, the bejewelled ex wrestler Mr Anderson).

multiple logins across multiple sites without SSO, it’s a farce

just look at the all the workarounds and carry on ***JUST TO BUY A TICKET TO THE FOOTBALL***

it’s 2023 - hello Artemis and James Webb - and the AFL and racketmaster and rackettek are still forcing this dog food on the proles

Agree

I bought tickets and did the online visa process for the World Cup in Russia in 2018. It was a breeze compared to the AFL ticketing monolith

You saw what it said when I did a screenshot, dunno what to tell ya just going by my experience.

It works. A QR code is a QR code, whether it's a screen shot or from the app

Not sure if you saw it before but when I screen shot my ticket which is a QR code it says it won't work.

I'm with you, I don't see why it wouldn't work just trying to save people headaches in case it doesn't.

Go use the membership  card you were offered to choose but have obviously ignored. How many  chances do you want when change is available.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
