The way AFL are handing out compensation picks, we should put our hand over for consecutive finals straight set exits, end of round 1 compo?

Do you ever think we’ll see a draft that isn’t compromised again?

Yeah you’re right, I completely forgot about the Tassie team….

Agree. It’s just a bluff. Grundy will get to Sydney. It’s just at what number and how much of his contract is paid by Pies, Dees and Swans. AFL Sudoku at work.
Grundys recruitment and departure after one year will be remembered as one of the biggest “head scratcher” trade deals done by the Dees.

The Dees will pay nothing of Grundy's salary going forward....thats all down to Collingwood and his new club.

MFC just playing for a better pick.thsn Sydney's opening gambit... that part is just part of the trade week game.

Will be some time coming. Unless the contracts get renegotiated, could be a veeeery long time. As it stands, the current contract is so heavily lopsided in AFLs favour, it’ll tank the Tassie economy.

If we can’t get Sydney to oay a decent pick AND $650k - we may end up paying something of his salary

$650 for Grundy is a steal.  We won't be paying any.

We just got Harmes' 500k off the books so don't need to pay $$

It’s 2 days into the trade period, take a chill pill.  It doesn’t start to heat up until the last few days

Love the reaction …. Let’s c what happens

Without mentioning sources etc, I have been told Shane McAdam and Fogarty has been suggested by the dees for a round 1 selection. No me tion of what pick was to be utilised or multiples

With the Petty news floated recently this might have some merrit. I don't think that deal cuts it by any means but interesting times ahead.

Not sold on Fogarty, but i trust our FD know what they're doing.

I know he can kick, but isn't he just another Fritsch? Aren't we lacking a bonadife tall?

Doesn't fill a need is what i mean.

I’m fairly certain Fogarty is bigger than Fritsch and a much more aggressive player.  Fogarty and JVR would hurt some defenders with the way they attack the ball.

Pies won a flag with Miecheck

Very good, thank you.

People think Fritsch is lazy in terms of def and chasing.  Add Fog as well 😳

I'd take Fogarty, no question. improves our set shot kicking straight away, Why do the Crows want to move him on?

This Petty talk is making me a little nervous.  Hope its all just SA media talk.

He’s a 194cm, 100kg meathead.

So no, not a Fritsch type

The competition is full of meatheads - it’s almost a prerequisite

Almost every club has had financial assistance. Ours was far less than some.

North don’t need 3 x first round picks for financial survival. They don’t need them to sell memberships. That’s what picks 2 and 3 as well as Larkey, Sheezel and Wardlaw will do.

There’s no need for them. The only reason they’re getting them is because Clarko had a meltdown

I can imagine Gil having a meltdown and kowtowing over this.

Clarko may have had some issues but i think he played the AFL beautifully as well.

Inquiry dropped! 👍🏻💪🏼

Sydney offered pick 46 for Grundy, I assume the Dees got up and walked out of the room laughing.

Was this Dodoro pulling a prank?
A laughable offer.

On Friday night it's a blockbuster at the G as the Magpies look to extend their top of the table winning streak while the Hawks strive to bounce back from a couple of recent defeats and stay in contention for the Top 4. On Saturday the Suns, buoyed by 3 wins on the trot, face the Dockers in a clash crucial for both teams' aspirations this season. The Suns want to solidify their Top 4 standing whilst the Dockers will be desperate to break into the 8.

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The media has performed a complete reversal in its coverage of the Melbourne Football Club over the past month and a half. Having endured intense criticism from all quarters in the press, which continually identified new avenues for scrutiny of every aspect, both on and off the field, and prematurely speculated about the departures of coaches, players, officials, and various employees from a club that lost its first five matches and appeared out of finals contention, the narrative has suddenly shifted to one of unbridled optimism.  The Demons have won five of their last six matches, positioning themselves just one game (and a considerable amount of percentage) outside the top eight at the halfway mark of the season. They still trail the primary contenders and remain far from assured of a finals berth.

  • REPORT: Sydney

A few weeks ago, I visited a fellow Melbourne Football Club supporter in hospital, and our conversation inevitably shifted from his health diagnosis to the well-being of our football team. Like him, Melbourne had faced challenges in recent months, but an intervention - in his case, surgery, and in the team's case, a change in game style - had brought about much improvement.  The team's professionals had altered its game style from a pedestrian and slow-moving approach, which yielded an average of merely 60 points for five winless games, to a faster and more direct style. This shift led to three consecutive wins and a strong competitive effort in the fourth game, albeit with a tired finish against Hawthorn, a strong premiership contender.  As we discussed our team's recent health improvement, I shared my observations on the changes within the team, including the refreshed style, the introduction of new young talent, such as rising stars Caleb Windsor, Harvey Langford, and Xavier Lindsay, and the rebranding of Kozzy Pickett from a small forward to a midfield machine who can still get among the goals. I also highlighted the dominance of captain Max Gawn in the ruck and the resurgence in form in a big way of midfield superstars Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver.

  • POSTGAME: Sydney

The Demons controlled the contest from the outset, though inaccurate kicking kept the Swans in the game until half time. But after the break, Melbourne put on the jets and blew Sydney away and the demolition job was complete.
