Unfortunately, I cannot physically attend the Melbourne Football Club Annual General Meeting tonight (20/2/2023) at 6:30pm.

Hopefully it will be live streamed?

Obviously, there are some important items on the Agenda for this AGM.

All I respectfully request, is if someone could please ask the Melbourne Football Club Board what is happening with our Home Base? We as Melbourne Demons members deserve an update on it's progress.

According to the email sent to members it is live steamed:

The Melbourne Football Club Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held at 6.30pm on 20 February 2023 at the Olympic Room, Gate 3, Level 2 at the MCG.  The AGM will also be livestreamed for members who wish to watch it but cannot attend.

There was, is working now

A pathetic streaming attempt…

another communication issue as sound went off, pictures went off and finished half way through.

Regarding the Home Base Pert spoke for a long time and had no answer.Crapped on about how difficult it was to make a decision. And that he couldn’t tell us what the options were because it would breach confidentiality!

And what part of that did you not understand?

Can you tell us which $20 - 50 odd multi million dollar projects that you started with state, federal and council from the ground up, as you think that is easy to do? I hope you understand the word confidentiality? or should they just let everyone know and get all parties to withdraw from the talks.

Translation for:  "We've really not progressed as well as we would have like and there is currently no option available at this point".

Perhaps he could tell us which options they have explored and the time frame they are working to, to make a decision.

I watched Kate Roffe speech and although I enjoyed the content I thought that Kate sounded a bit edgy did something happen??

I couldn’t get into the livestream so am awaiting for the other speeches to be posted on website?

I very much doubt much progress has been made. I hope i am wrong, but i don’t think so. Not blaming anyone. Just reality. There is nothing to tell….

Ok when state, federal and council money or approval for such projects are needed especially in this climate money wise all parties will not want information let out, but regarding the Caulfield project there was a delay and still might be regarding issues with the council and community groups and other parties, personally the only people moaning is a minority section of members, the club has Casey Fields and its set up AMMi park for gym and pools and the admin is there as well, we also won a Premiership with these same conditions, I wonder if these people seem to think there will be a social section for the club in any new amenities, now you can believe Pert or just come out and say he's lying instead of innuendo comments.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
