Wow, sounds like Family Day was fun!
I wouldn’t know since I didn’t see any of the happenings described in the above posts. Which is fantastic because it means that we were absolutely flat out for the entire time. We literally did not stop for a solid three-hour period. A couple of hours beforehand to set up and a couple of hours afterwards to clean/pack up. I didn’t get home until 4:30.

But totes worth it. More giant heads on the horizon! Speaking of, what happens to giant heads of players who leave us? I’m glad I asked! We raffle them. And look who got to come home with me!

No surprise since I reckon I bought 95% of the tickets. 😁

PS: to the ‘Landers who came by to say hello… I’m sorry if I appeared rude but as mentioned above we were under the pump the entire time and I simply couldn’t take a break. But thanks all the same for coming by.

So you sleep in Fritsch's bed and take Jayden home...and I thought you were a wholesome type...😉

Clearly mistaken!🙃

If a Bunnings brunch is not good enough for you, then you are the problem!

Fritta wasn’t in his bed at the time and Jayden’s made of cardboard, so… reputation intact. 😇

oh, and i had this image of you sitting in the kitchen,  stirring purloined threads from fritta's bed cover in a bubbling cauldron, whilst chanting magical incantations, in a desperate attempt to breathe life into a cardboard jayden facsimile.......reputation be buggered!

Are cauldrons still a thing? Like, can you even buy them anywhere now? Do they still make them?

Asking for a friend

Snapped up a Kaboodle Kauldron at your Snag Rivals, Bunnings, just yesterday, WCW.

Though have been trying to follow graphic-rich, word-free instructions to attach legs ever since. Allen key, tossed angrily, defying recovery.

So we’ve met but didn’t realise it, DZ. I was the one who took your money!

Glad you enjoyed the snags, as well as the day on the whole. ❤️💙

Yes we did WCW although my daughter and grandaughter placed the order and paid, how terrible that Coles let the Demon Army down on such a critical day. We were coming back for seconds after the players left but the queue was out of control you ladies were flat chat.👍

You'll have to find that aisle yourself.

The 16 year old stoner will try to help, buy ultimately give up.

'What's a cauldron do? So, it's sort of like a bucket? Maybe try the cleaning aisle? Number? Um, down that way? It's hot in a cauldron? Um, maybe try  the outdoor sections where they have those outdoor heater thingos. Yeah, nah, sorry man, can't help'

Unfortunately this isn’t an isolated incident, DZ. Similar has happened before. But we always somehow manage to avert disaster. At one BBQ at Gosch’s two BBQs we’d ordered for delivery at 8am didn’t arrive until 10:15am. In the meantime though, a couple of members ducked out and brought a BBQ from home. We always find a way. ❤️💙

Sincere thanks to you and indeed everyone who enjoyed our wares. Happy to say we made a great profit and y’all look out for new flags n giant heads this season!

Also happy and proud to report our cake stall and raffles made $2300 which goes straight to BBB’s Chop The Mop cause. 💕

Outstanding effort yesterday as usual. Not many people put their hands up to contribute to community/social based organisations anymore unfortunately. We’re lucky that there are enough people like you and the rest of the Demon Army who are selfless and civic minded and give back. We’re very grateful. Thank you @WalkingCivilWar

Thanks so much, BDA. 💕 But at the risk of sounding cheesy af, we do what we do out of love for the Dees. On a personal level, I’m just rapt to have found a bunch of people who are as insanely devoted as I am, to the point of obsession. 😁

My youngest son is also grateful as he knows that the time and energy I put into the DA would otherwise be channeled his way which would suck because apparently I’m annoying. 🤣

Australia has the fifth highest rate of volunteerism in the world. Reliable stats comparing year-on-year increases and deceases in volunteerism are hard to come by, as scales of measurement and variables constantly change. But any increase/decrease is generally accepted as being small.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
