My hatred of Geelong outweighs my desire to see Freo lose.

Looking good early. Keep going Carlton! Pick 6 on offer.

My love for the Dees outweighs my hatred for other teams.

Cmon Carlton big second half please.
Freo have a very tough run of games after this one- Pies, Swan, Cats and Lions.  I don’t have them winning any of those if they can’t get over the Blues today.

Few more Carlton goals and freo slip below Gold Coast on percentage.

With Sydney playing freo in a couple weeks, pick 4 is a genuine possibility.

Wow Blues have rally surprised me today, just dont stop now.

This is beautiful but it’s also so frustrating. That Freo loss is hurting us in so many ways, we’d be basically safe in the top four and Freo would be 15th giving us a number 4 pick!!! Argh!!

Freo have a tough run in. If they play like this for the rest of the season then pick 4 is a genuine possibility.

Freo’s run home:

Collingwood at the G

Sydney in Perth

Geelong in Geelong

Lions in Perth

Eagles in Perth

Port in Perth

Hawks at the G

At worst we’re getting pick 7 at best, 4!

Very hard to gauge where the dockers are at this year. Happy to reap the benefits in the interim though

We lost to this mob at the G… Still embarrassing..

Let it go. We'll finish top 4 regardless.

Hope so. If we’d beaten them it’d be safe. I also can’t let it go easily as we outplayed them but just didn’t put it away, they didn’t deserve to win. Anyway, how about these draft picks?!

In the words of Reznor:

"Bow down before the one you serve.

You're going to get what you deserve."

Jeepers, don't suppose you know the lotto numbers?

Freo’s % taking a hammering. Now below the Suns on the live ladder.  That’s pick 4 ladies and gentlemen.

They could win only one of those games and I wouldn’t be shocked. Likewise they could win 5. They’re an enigma.
Hopefully with their season dead they’ll stop trying.

So why did they play so darn well against us. They have a huge variation in best and worst performances.

I think they’ll beat the swans , Eagles and Hawks  on their run home. Not sure whether that gets us a top 5 pick.

The Swans game will be crucial. If they lose that then we should get a top 5 pick. If the Hawks also bring their A game as that they’ll also beat them and we could get into 3-4 range.

With Eeyore Longmuir in charge I would think they will give up and find other hobbies in their life; woodworking or paint-by-numbers…

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The match up of teams competing in our great Aussie game at its second highest level is a rarity for a work day Thursday morning but the blustery conditions that met the players at a windswept Casey Fields was something far more commonplace. They turned the opening stanza between the Casey Demons and a somewhat depleted Richmond VFL into a mess of fumbling unforced errors, spilt marks and wasted opportunities for both sides but they did set up a significant win for the home team which is exactly what transpired on this Anzac Day round opener. Casey opened up strong against the breeze with the first goal to Aidan Johnson, the Tigers quickly responded and the game degenerated into a defensive slog and the teams were level when the first siren sounded.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.
