Happy to barrack for Geelong this week. Higher the pick, the better our chances of nailing an elite player and/or giving us a better chance to do a deal with a club. 

It's one week and Geelong don't scare me now that Joel has gone. They're on their last legs. 

I want Freo to implode and I feel like if they beat Geelong, they'll come into the game against us with their tails up. If they lose, they'll be nervous to perform.

They've won a few games but I still reckon we will get pick 5 to 7. 

Currently it is 7.

Richmond will most likely rise above them and Sydney might also.  It is possible one or more of Ess, Carl and GCS will drop below them...doubt all three will.

A lot of tough and 8-pt games coming up for them

So we can stay optimistic on pick 5-7.

This is the thing I really hate about AFL media as a whole.

Freo have finally worked out its forward line.

Give me a break.

They played the Swans who were without their 2 KPB's plus their best defender, Rampe.

...and the previous week, Hawthorn.

I should know better, but seriously the rubbish that gets put up.

Just like how Geelong were back in flag contention when they beat Hawthorn... and how we are no good but Pies are unbelievable because they beat GWS without Toby Green at the MCG.

Yep, and King is talking them up after they beat an undermanned Geelong.

The same Geelong, fully manned that King said had fallen off the cliff a few weeks back.

It's frustrating and pathetic, but it's interesting and handy that we're going under the radar at the moment.

We're in a better position than Geelong last year and have a fully fit list to choose from. 

Meanwhile, going into the weekend, Collingwood were only top 4 (2nd) for scores from stoppage because of their +2 advantage at contest, and nowhere to be seen on scores from kick outs and scores from turnover.

This to me says they haven't been exposed by a team that either beats them or matches them in the contest, nor a team that scores big from turnovers. The team set up to do both, sitting in the top 4 for both of those scoring paths, is us.

Their list is completely cooked and by having Torranto and Hopper now they've completely butchered their list rebuild.

They don't have a 1st round pick and with Riewold and Cotchin set to retire they have no up and coming talent coming through.

They'll fall harder then Hawthorn have in the next few years.

Tell me about it. It's amazing what a win at home over a hapless West Coast team and a decent decent win albeit over a Cats side with 6 premiership players out can do for their 'profile' in the media.

Was watching First Crack last night and heard David King saying something like "It's amazing how good they are at getting the game on their terms", was gobsmacked when I realised they were talking about Richmond.

They are playing better football no doubt. They are moving it quicker, taking risks and creating more chaos. Anything is better than that slow and boring ball movement they were doing.

Their last two games almost mirrors Richmond's last two games as they both beat up on a useless pile of garbage the week before and to their credit had good wins this week but over sides not at full strength. Freo for the moment have played their way back into finals contention but to say their forward line is now fixed is far fetched. There is still the inconsistency there which was on an upswing this week. Can't rely on small forward Schultz kicking bags each week, Dogga was very good but if the Mccartins and Rampe are there does he get the same space to roam around?

I can't help but feel there is a bit of a sugar hit about this. They play a big-boy back line this week in Geelong so let's see how these guys fare then. 

Reserve judgment on Fremantle until they beat a good side - Sydney with no backline doesn’t count. 

Geelong this week will count but they may also still be missing 5-8 best 22 players.

Here is something to get people yelling at me, but based on all info, including salaries/contracts, I would much rather have JJ, than either Taranto or Hopper.

I don't want to start something here, but on the vision available to us, Sparrow grabs Day around the hips, not pinning the arms and no apparent injury.

But, as I said earlier, Day did apparently hit his head on the ground and we know they hate that.

Think we will cop the week and refresh Tom and I would bring in Howes, to give him his first game.

Day was slow to get up and the trainer went to him from memory.

Think I made the call a few years back that all of Hawthorn, West Coast and Richmond were very top heavy list age talent wise and were primed to drop away as we hit peak performance.  Probably also said a similar thing about Geelong and I'm optermisic that the wheels are starting to fall of there too.
