Fitness tests this week for Gay, Duffy & Ivey. It would be great to get a game into Maddy Gay before the finals.

The team will know exactly what is required when they take the field on Saturday afternoon. With a 50 point differential going into the final round, I'm assuming we'll need to win by close to 15 goals to get top spot. Difficult, but not completely impossible if we take our chances and get some favourable conditions.

As much as it hurts to say it.......Go Pies!

A draw would be better as that means the filth don't win but we can still grab top spot.

I don’t think that is quite the case Poita.

The pies have quite a strong back half. If they can keep the Lions to 35 points while scoring 27 points themselves the Lions will end up with a percentage of exactly 250%

If we then can keep the Eagles to 9 points (which is what we have done the last 3 weeks) and score 41 ourselves we end up with a percentage of 250.5

In the above scenario if we score 1 point less both teams end up exactly on 250%. No idea what happens here but maybe the Lions get top spot because they beat us during the year??

I hope the pies lose but keep it tight enough such that the Lions lose some percentage. We then make up the percentage tomorrow against a pretty woeful Eagles outfit.

Congratulations Sarah 50 great and reliable games. And some big ones to follow over the next month.

Showing  the Demon Spirit each day on the field for us. All the best.

Looks like we will be finishing 2nd...

C/Wood just not very good and Brisbane are well on top now.

Yep it’s a rout

Pies showing heart and fighting hard but no outside run and nothing happening inside 50 for them. Lions clearly the better team

I'm sorry that I got suspended. It was meant to be a joke I'll choose my words more carefully next time. Like the team. Gay is a huge in. Don't give up on top spot yet a 100 point margin could be on the cards if they play to there best. West Coast aren't much chop.

Well, it’s not raining. So there’s that.

Not expecting a big crowd today because interstate side. But those of us who are there will be bringing the noise!!!

GO THE MIGHTY DEES!!!!

❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙❤️💙

Us by 44 points 😍

Edited by WalkingCivilWar

We need a 5 goal first quarter to get us going and keep the foot down from there

Looking like soggy conditions so it's a big big ask but you never know

The Eagles are terrible so we'll win big but I just can't see us winning by the 90 odd points required.

Dees by 60 points I reckon

Wonder if they will wear their flippers.

Good opportunities gone to waste early. Can't afford inaccuracy.

Tough conditions with that wind. Doing well with us controlling the game, we hunt the ball and the opposition. Plenty of ball movement by hand, the women can trust each other as there is always an outside runner. We are wrestling in our forward 50 where the game has been played. Need to create a bit more space in there.

Paxman, Lampard, Hanks, West, Goldy, Lauren and Purcell leading the way.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
