Great that Oscar is recruited by the Dogs after an unlucky run at the Dees. He just couldn't overcome his speed attribute with polished disposal and average decision making. 

Doubt if both Mitch Hannan and Oscar will make the opening round at the G. Only one possibly!

Having said that we probably will have only ONE Lachie H who IMO providing he keeps fit and out of trouble is a shoe in.That's  what he was signed up for the other wing ( or centre) would be ok also.The doubters are off mark and he is as sure as Brodie in that Round 1 team passing skilfully to JVR and Co. 

The Shache may have to wait for injury or form lapses but you never know he could well be a surprise.

Isn't hindsight a great thing. Not sure you would have found much of that sentiment at the time. Also keep in mind that around the time of his departure, he was fighting for a spot in the team amongst a group of similar players to which he was viewed as the least likely to make it.

He might be better than several on our list, but he's also older than many and it's good that we've been able to maintain a relatively ballanced list profile age wise. If he were still at the club, he'd be fighting with the likes of Havey Langford, Xavier Lindsay and Jai Culley for game/ground time and I don't think that would be constructive.

Great personal story and I'm really happy for him that he's found a fit and made something of his career at the Bulldogs.

It's great that Baker has scrapped his way to 50 games including 15 in the last 2 seasons. He had 5 years with us and played a total of 6 games in his last 3 seasons including zero in his final season. Yet we should have re-signed him? Unsure which of Langdon, Langford, Culley, Windsor etc... you think he would be playing on a wing ahead of today?

Grumpy & innacurate response matey. The last 3 years he's managed to get games in a much better team than ours so theres that.

He is far better than Laurie & Henderson.

He has been a handy wing or small defender & would not be competing at all with Culley, Langford or Windsor who are all mids.

Dogs missed the finals last year so they weren't much better then us at all. He was still dropped several times throughout the year.

6 games in 2024.. c'mon mate. That's absolutely nothing to write home about.

2023 he played 18 games in a team that didnt even play finals. Still managed to get dropped still.

Glad hes doing well but he will be 28 yeats of age soon this year and just ticked 50 games.. a true definition of a list clogger.

Yeah, tenuous assertion CF. Funnily enough, Culley is named on the wing today. I love/d Sauce, I remember an excellent Gus and Gawny with him as a guest; but I would put JJ and Toby Bedford ahead of him for regrettable delists/trades

Bedford is the one that hurts, IMO.

Potentially Jordan too, at least from a depth perspective. Though I’m very comfortable that Windsor, Langford, Culley, Steele and Rivers offer more through the midfield.

With anything, Baker may not have been managed well by Goodwin and co and wasn’t given the opportunity to be himself. Seems to be a trend.

The fact he’s playing in a stronger team than ours displays he had the talent. Same with Bedford, Hogan etc.

In his first year at the doggies where he started the season really well, he attended a MFC game as a spectator just a few seats away from me up in the nose bleeds.

As he left the game I gave him a compliment about his form at the doggies and that brought a huge smile out of him. Small interaction but seemed like a genuinely nice bloke, happy he got to 50 games and hope he has more success there.

We were absolutely right to get rid of him. He's a perpetual fringe player, and like all fringe players, will pop up for a cameo from time to time.

Happy for him of course.

The average number of games for a Pick 48 is 55, and Oskar is well on the way to passing that. Though even that figure is skewed by a few low-pick players playing a lot of games. The majority of players taken at around that pick don't even reach 50 games.

So yes, well done Jason Taylor, above average outcome.

The thing that really hurt about Jordon though is that 5 months after he left for Sydney, we lost Brayshaw through concussion and he would have had more opportunities that would have kept him on our list. I know Jordon probably isn't ever going to be an absolute A Grade / dominant player, but he the kind of solid player that great teams all need. That he's been best 23 up at Sydney ever since and played in a grand final for them shows that he's defiantly an AFL standard player.

Good on him for his perseverance and his start to this season. He had some fantastic moments in last night's win.

Let's also be realistic, he kicked 3 goals which is 15% of his career total in one night. Outside of his 3 goals he had 5 further possessions for the game.

Agree that he is not a “in hindsight we should have kept him player.”

He never was a regular AFL player for us and never would have been.

Nice guy and hope he keeps playing for the Dogs.

I always like to see Oskar do well, but if he is in your team, you’re not winning a flag. Seems like a ripping bloke though.
