Tomlinson not finishing in the top 10 is telling, despite playing most of the year at Casey. Explains the lack of interest by other clubs.

Fair chance that Corey Ellison will get drafted. Hopefully by us.

Of that top 10, only White, Munro and Buntine are journeyman VFL players. That puts pay to the argument about our kids not being able to shine enough at that level.

Chandler, JVR, Laurie, and Woey all top 10. Plus Dunstan and Baker.

Seems like a perfect alignment to me for sustained success from our VFL feeder team.

i've never heard of rigg and couldn't find anything on google about him can someone enlighten me?

Lol..

Mate I did a quick google search and found he played around the early to mid 2000's and was a defender.

Easy done.

Any regular Casey viewers have thoughts on the B&F votes?

Hard to argue with the top 4 -5 players, but I thought Brown, Bedford, Tomlinson and Weideman all had better years than Laurie and probably Woewodin as well.

Well done to Munro, Dunstan and White who carried the team to a premiership and were deservedly top 3 in the B&F.

1.midfield Sautner
2. Mid Sautner
3. Mid Sautner
4. Chandler
5. wing Sautner
6. back Sautner
7. JVR
8. Punxsutwaney Phil
9. half back Sautner

Great to see so many young demons pushing their case to play afl.

I would say you are correct: Brown Bedford Tomlinson and Weideman did far more than both Laurie and Woewodin.

I wouldn't say the top 3 ( deservedly ) "carried" the team. Far from it. Very widely spread effort with spots very contested for non listed players. But White and Munro outstanding competitors.

Great to see Chandler, van Rooyen, Laurie and Woewodin in the top 10. THE FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

  • POSTGAME: Western Bulldogs

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
