Hunt is gone, which is pretty sad, especially given he will leave for an unused pick. Injury got him at the wrong time, otherwise he’d be a premiership player. Again, we better be picking up some players from other clubs to replenish this depth.

i would bet we'll bundle the pick with something else to do something

I’m not my happy about this move at all. Yes he’s not in our best, but he had what most players didn’t and that was raw pace.

So did Frost, but the club was happy to let him go in the name of cleaning up back half turnovers (which were a bigger problem then than now tbf), so I wonder if this could be similar in a way?

We Keep Bedford and Hunty goes

Bedford is 22

So often he was the only spark from the backline, as others were inert - he would run and show dare.

Sad to see him go. Gives opportunities to Bowey and possibly a new kid in the draft.

Wishing Jayden all the very best. Have always loved him in the red and blue.

Frost was something else. His body worked faster than his brain. He had athleticism and was skilful, unfortunately couldn’t combine them at the same time.

We tried to keep him on the cheap - prefer he stayed in the squad ahead of others tbh.

Nah, backline has done just fine without him I reckon.

Agree.

All the best Hunty, you'll always be a Dee

I don't get this move from Hunt unless it's purely about contract length - did we offer him 1 year only? He was playing 1s pretty much all year and last year and I think he is going to struggle at the Eagles.

Gut feel is it might be about next year's plans. Perhaps Bowey was going to be ahead of him next year, or maybe we've got someone in the pipeline to play half back? Sounds like Eagles had been into him during the year, and there was a rumour the Hawks had as well, so talks were happening a while out it seems.

Lowball over from the club so had no option, more money and longer contract at the Weagles

He is also going to a lowly club. Maybe he is going back to losing  most games next year. Like when he started?

I like the kid and will miss him.

Good luck Jayden.

It’s amazing how chuffed the Eagles fans are with recruiting him. I don’t think he has ever been particularly highly regarded by opposition fans, but he is a superstar all of a sudden if you read social media. I really like Hunt, but he has serious limitations, they revolve around decision making and ball use. He was a very late bloomer and wasn’t really rated at Brighton Grammar, until his senior year. His pace set him apart, but he just lacked a little footy nous

Not if we offered him a Contract, which doesn't appear to be the case. Would much rather keep, definately!

You have a truly bizarre taste in footballers. You like a guy that gets it 10 times and can run quickly, but you don't like a guy that gets in 10 times and is an elite kick.

I reckon about the only one you've got right, PF, is Clarry, and Blind Freddy would have got that one.

That's your first mistake, footballers are commodities that are to be bought and sold 😛

Oh and they're also role models and not entititled to lives of their own. Whenever I see player X out having a beer I wonder why he isnt training at that exact time.

Oh and why don't they care as much as we do when they lose? Based on no proof whatsoever. 🤣

I had a pic taken with that commodity tonight and I told him I was sad and he said “why’s that?” and then I remembered I was a little drunk and just said “never mind.” 😁 I got pics with many of the commodities and in all of those it’s smiles all round but in the Jayden pic, nary a smile to be seen. 🙁

It’s about freeing up cap space and at the start of the year, he was unfortunately one of the players in the group that were potentially going to be let go.
