Dangerfield playing 2 good games in a row.
Geelong has had sensational luck this season. Coupled with a dream draw, good player management and a killer forwardline.
It was theirs to lose for about 10 weeks now and they don’t seem to want to choke again.

They need to get a significantly harder draw next year. This year their draw was a joke for a team that finished 3rd last season. It was only ranked as the 8th hardest draw as the season began, and only got easier as some sides dropped off.

It was definitely their season.

Geelong would want a couple more goals to be comfortable.

Please, no more…

Swans must kick 2 in a row

This is not Melbourne. If they lose this from here it would be the worst choke in the history of the game.

They did that in round 23, 2021.

Dees we need to take notice of how to manage players and be fit heading into finals!

And not just within a season.  Tracc on 360 alluded to us going even harder this pre-season vs 2021's pre-season.

Sounds like we may have also gone too hard too early.

Yep, ridiculously soft draw in the lead up to finals. Pair that with the bye week, another week off before the prelim, then a soft kill for the prelim itself, it's no surprise they've got plenty of fuel in the tank.

Didn't expect Sydney to be this bad though.

Frankenstein absolutely useless.  I guess the new contract will satisfy him?

Swans fired their shots and didn't get the in roads they needed. Anything can happen but give me the blue and white side of proceedings any day.

That was not a grand final and Sydney are not Melbourne 2021.

With a good injury run we are winning it next year.

Swans no where near it, Collingwood won’t have a nother miracle season and Geelong wonmt have another pissweak draw like this year and alot of players will retire.

How funny would it be if the cats choked from here. I’m willing it to happen.

Be the kind of loss you never come back from.

They will but I’ll bet my house they find a way to make it easier than ours. They will probably play a majority of the top 8 games at GMHBA and their away games to the bottom 4.

3/3 last games will be in VIC (MCG away games + GMHBA home games).

So Reid gone already?  Why did they play him.... too risky

I’d much rather watch something like this right now…

Absolute deluge of rain in BKK is forcing me to watch more of this Horror Show

I cannot believe that i wish the Filth had won last week, but this has been awful

Ahh well another Jamieson’s on the rocks….  :)

You mean play most of the top eight teams at GMHBA CYB?

Anyone thinking we would be down this much if we were plying are kidding themselves. Even with how banged up we are.

Sydney are way before their time..

We wouldn't, as reigning premiers we would show some pride and fighting spirit at the very least. Clayton Oliver by himself would trump over Paddy "Throws" Dangerfield.

We took a risk with May last year and it paid off. Sometimes you gotta take a punt on your most important players.

Yes ive never rated their mid field mix aside from Parker.

Still has me flummoxed how they beat us....twice!

Might have something to do with our game plan vs the frenetic attack at all costs stuff Geelong dished up to them in the first quarter, I suspect.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
