WTF - if you are tackled and get a kick away it used to be play on.

Looked like it hit the ground before he kicked it. If so, great call.

Terrible game so far. We would do better right now.

Geez their arrogance will be going to astronomical levels if this goes on much longer.

Ya call that a banner?!?!

For this pathetic effort alone they deserve to get comprehensively thrashed.

Did Robbie dedicate that song to Elton John instead of John Farnham.

Nah it was to John F

Take note folks...

Apart from Geelong having a spare behind the ball and the Swans having a plus one on the ball, it's mostly man on man footy early here which means very high pressure footy.

Something we didn't cope with very well this season but will need to learn to/and bring it for long periods, if we're to get back here soonish.

17-8 inside 50.  MFC would be 1 goal 7 behinds.

Would’ve preferred the Pies playing against the Cats today.

Cats have a forward line that just knows. 2-3 no look kicks and even mis kicks find the forward players for uncontested marks.

This looks exactly like us v WC in 2018 prelim  Swans [censored] themselves with the ball

hopefully the Swans review this game before round 1

Cats have already scored as many goals as they did in the entire Preliminary Final of last year against us.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
