Selwood with the Jim Stynes award 🤮

Just came here to post those exact words

🤮

Joel winning the Stynes award partly for his Auskick work which is a paid gig to skirt the salary cap.

Pretty good speech, and well appreciated.

Joel Selwood is a pain on the field but gee he spoke well and nice words about Jim.

It was nicely written but he read it like he has permanent brain damage

Hahahahaha Clarry with 2 votes against Collingwood.
Umpires are a disgrace.

If he loses by a vote this game will be heavily discussed. Mihocek had just an average forward game.

Cox was best on ground not Clarry anyway

Where’s the fast forward button?

Didn't he kick 4?

Incorrect. Cox became influential when Gawn went off. Oliver had 43 touches and a goal for Christ’s sake. That is a performance neither Cox nor Mihocek could ever replicate.

Reminds me of that ad 'Mate, did you get a head knock on the weekend?'

And the last forward to kick 4 goals in a game and get 3 Brownlow votes ahead of a dominant midfielder performance is who?

A ruckman or key forward is highly unlikely to have 43 touches, you are correct. But Oliver was wasteful with the ball and turned it over or hot potatoed it to team mates, it wasn’t his best game. Cox was a monster behind the ball and forward. That Gawn was dealing with a nasty injury is irrelevant. Gun Midfielders get 30 every week. 40 is impressive but means little by itself. Tom Mitchell has had 40 multiple times with little impact

Yep and won a Brownlow even tho he isn’t half the player Clarry is. Makes you think.

Oliver had 6 turnovers from 43 disposals that day.

Cox had 7 turnovers from 21 disposals.

The umpires are the worst possible judges for awards like this.

I just don’t think the umps like Clarry

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
