Someone go and tell Carlton to put a couple of players (with running speed) in the middle .

And the Carlton forward coach might think to make sure they have a couple of crumbers in front of the forwards when they send in those repeated helicopter kicks that will inevitably get punched forward. Everytime there were 2 Pies and zero Blues to take the ball away.

Id much prefer the Pies in a prelim over the Cats. Cats are the only team that can beat us in a final. Maybe swans

Carlton were the better side and lost. The filth are a disgrace. Now there is a QF between the 2 worst sides in the universe. Geelong and filth.

Brutal way for the season end for the blues. Does their miss beat our record from 2017?

I'd rather play the Pies in a GF than a PF where their crowd dominates. In a GF there's enough neutrals to remove that advantage.

I'd rather play Geelong in a final than Collingwood.

Yes, it's good to see Carlton complete the biggest choke in AFL history. But a Carlton win would have sent Collingwood into an EF against Richmond, a strong chance of losing and disappearing from the finals.

Now they either beat Geelong and make a prelim, or lose then get the "easy" semi (Fremantle or the Dogs) and make a prelim.

I reckon the pies will beat Geelong. They are battle hardened and full of belief. The cats have been playing practice matches

The one difference between Geelong and the rest of the comp is that I don't see Geelong coughing up a 25 point fourth quarter lead to Collingwood.

They are flaky in finals of course, but still.

They had that mark and a player standing on his own 35 from goal and went to the pocket.

Well .... The Blues game plan did remind me alot of ours.
Might get drummed into them as well.

If the Pies beat Geelong we will meet them in the PF unless they go out in straight sets. Or we do.

Cats can't beat us in a final.

Just whisper the name Max into each player and their cooked.

Geelong have a horrid first up finals record, currently 1 win from 8 goes.

Nup I could not sit through it if we lost. I don't think I'd ever recover

Bloody Carlton you gave up a good lead.

And Jamie Elliot is a class player. Balls of steel. Despite playing for the pies I can't hate him and Pendlebury

if they choke in the QF and Collingwood makes the prelim, they'll get the loser of us/Sydney or Richmond.

That's the "hard" prelim.

The "easy" prelim is the other side, which we'll get if we can beat Sydney next week. We'll get the Geelong/Collingwood loser or the Fremantle/Dogs winner.

I'd take a prelim at the G against any of those sides, except Collingwood.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: St. Kilda

The Demons return to Casey Fields (aka the Field of Dreams) this Saturday to host the Saints in Round 2. If you’re feeling lucky, head down the Monash for some family-friendly footy—you might even walk away a winner. The first 5,000 adults through the gate will receive an entry into the $10,000 helicopter ball drop. With Casey’s infamous wind, what could possibly go wrong? Closest ball to the pin wins. So spread the word, get down there—and good luck!

  • PREVIEW: Collingwood

Way back in March we contemplated the possibility of a Demon resurgence after Simon Goodwin’s summer of love. Many issues at the club had seemingly been addressed, key players were returning from injury and a brand new day was about to dawn. We imagined the coach pulling a rabbit out of a hat. The team would roar up the charts, push aside every opponent and make its way to a Grand Final ending in ultimate triumph with Goody and Max holding the premiership cup aloft under a shower of red and blue ticker tape.
