Nothing too exciting. Salem out just due to soreness.

C’mon Bowey, give the selectors a headache coming into finals.

Groin soreness a week from finals isn’t ideal. Salem has had a year to forget.

The Bowey selection is interesting purely that he's coming off a 5 day break and got some pretty big hits at Casey last week.

Looking forward to watching him play though.

Leprechaun luck comes back.

Goody knows how important Salem is in finals. Check Q1 GF. He is our most composed player bar none.  No risk taken as a quality kid ready.
good call

Is Max OK?

Bowie for Salem I can handle but if Max is out I might as well start drinking now.

My info is that Max is struggling with a knee injury and may be a very late, late out.

Hopefully on the mild side. Confident he'll be right.

How unimaginative Jordan super sub

Would have gone for Joel Smith

Spargo needs a friggen huge game

I'll be keeping a close on Gus tonight. I think he is playing sublime footy at at his best.

No news on kayo re Max so maybe he's OK.

Bye next week

Hearing Fagan talk pre game it seems they've gone to absolute town on our game plan.

Stated that they have reviewed games from this year and last year to see what the issue is.

Was confident pre game, now not so much..

JJ isn’t a bad sub option. He can play wing mid half forward or half back. And he’s definitely closest to our 22.

Is this game scheduled for 7.50 because

Qland is still living in the last century and refuse to have daylight savings time?

I feel sick 🤮

First time since last year’s finals that I feel genuinely sick with nerves about a game.
Things matter again. I don’t like it.

Friday night games are always 7:50pm start time.

Watching from Cebu City Philippines

Ned Kelly Sports Bar

Great Bar if anyone is passing through

I hope Tracca steps up tonight. He's been OK but he's not playing at his best.

And it seemed he was given that much time in the middle last week.

I think we can and will win but as nervous as anything, the Pinot is not helping might have to move onto the Shiraz and see if that helps.

Would of thought that’s a given for every team every week.

Just hope we plan for their plan

With the whole fam in Covid ISO, it feels eerily similar to the final round 2021.
I'm hoping for something a little less traumatic on the heart. Go Dees. Go big time.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

With their season all over bar the shouting the Demons head back on the road for the third week in a row as they return to Adelaide to take on the Crows. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
