Ugh not only will they win but now they’ll probably have a massive percentage boost.

Their percentage was 135 coming into tonight.  It will only increase by a tiny margin.

edit:  It went from 135.1 to 135.5.

Unreal goal by Fogarty. He’s finally fulfilling his potential.

Can't believe we gave the Dogs hope last week.

Carlton Crew well and truely finished for the year. Will miss the finals.

I don’t think I can stomach watching the Selwood love-fest when the siren goes. Ima flip over to the Carlton match. Looks as though Adelaide are about to upset.

Some of the choices clubs make for ‘fan engagement’ are questionable. Adelaide playing ‘Let’s get Loud’ by Jennifer Lopez after a goal?

I mean I’m all for classic J-Lo, but that’s a very camp decision.

Chance Carlton don’t make finals?

Yes and wouldn’t that be fantastic.

Crows are going to be a decent team before long

Heard Boys light up earlier in the qtr. Looks like the Burgess factor is paying off

One of my hated songs of all time. Up there with Absolutely Everybody by Vanessa Amarosi

Cats form at the G isn't super compelling.  4 wins 1 loss sounds good, but they beat early season Essendon and Collingwood, fell over the line against Richmond and then beat Carlton, who are presently showing us how well they are going.  Chuck in a loss to the Hawks and it is a bit meh.

Having said that, they look seriously good at the moment.  Tackling hard, great ball movement, playing with dare.  Definitely a different proposition to last year.

Well after the disappointment of the dogs, the Crowd have cheered me up!

The Blues look cooked

East to forget last year before finals. Cats 16 wins % 126. Won 10/11 at one points.

then [censored] the bed. I agree they are more dangerous. But I doubt they can hack finals intense inside footy week on week

Some of the finest lyrics ever penned by an Australian…

‘Absolutely everybody
In the whole wide world
Everybody breathes
And everybody needs’

You can just picture her tirelessly working in the studio thinking ‘what rhymes with breathes, oh yeah… needs’.

I hate to admit it but they’re the best team in the comp by a country mile at the moment.

Country mile on their country ground …. how about the MELBOURNE Cricket Ground?

I flicked over to the women's marathon and congrats to Jess Stenson (Trengove) winning gold, 3 aussies in the top 5. Awesome achievement.

Mark Holden actually wrote that song. Which really says it all.

Carlton playing in a horrific white outfit and losing just makes me smile, if Essendon lose tomorrow it will have been a pretty good weekend.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
