It makes me sick that Collingwood could actually make top 4.

Collingwood’s last three are tough, but before that not so tough. We have a cracking finish coming up.

Well it would be nice for Collingwood to fluff one soon, they really need to lose.

I think you might be underselling how good the Pies are.

Fair point but I honestly don’t think they are good. A few good players. No stars. They are just coached well with an easy draw.

Would you worried about playing them in finals? I realise this beat us but they hold no fear for me when something is on the line

Depends how we go against them in round 21.

There’d have to be some slight concerns if we play Collingwood in a qualifying final and the Pies have a potential 6-1 record over us since round 23 2017.

Nightmares of a Pies v Cats GF

It's not unlikely

I put a sneaky shekel on when the pies v Cats GF was paying $71 just after QBday. Suspect the odds would be much lower now.

They’re top 2 material if you ask me.

They’re only a game and percentage below Geelong and have a laughable 4 weeks coming up.

We'll see in the return game. If we can put together a really good 4 quarter game against them next time round then it will be nice and fresh in their minds. I firmly believe if May plays and Cox gets towelled up we win that last one even if not convincing.

I just want Collingwood no where near top 4, I want them to get lost.

geez, gold coast really hard done by, umpiring very favourable to collingwood in the last.

They and Carlton are being umpired into favourable finals positions.

“Kangaroos midfielder Luke Davies-Uniacke was outstanding with a game-high 35 possessions and eight clearances in a lone hand”

I saw only bits of the Kangas v Cats (mainly watched Suns-Pies). But must say LDU is a gun and definitely one shining light for Kangas this season.

Geelong gets North and the Eagles twice this season.

Yes worked that out. Cats play Eagles at home in round 23.  That’s a nice draw for them and their percentage.

AFL is rubbish if Melbourne aren’t playing.

True. But there’s something poetic about a Hawthorn vs GWS game being the most irrelevant game of the weekend. So irrelevant I won’t even bother watching. Watching WC Richmond hoping for the miracle upset, watched North hoping they would injure the cats, to no avail.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
