Naugton gets talked up so much, wouldn't swap him for any of ours. Overrated

Beauty is in the eye... Imagine having him AND Ben Brown... that would be amazing.

No thanks.  Can't stand the bloke.  Hardly any tricks unless it's down his throat

He’s 22.

IMO carltons ball use is poor

They lack defensive running, but with more preseasons for their young players - this will come

And their backline is leaky - weitering is a gun but i don't rate their other KPD's and i dont think their rebounders are very accountable defensively

Not Umpire bashing but normally free kicks even themselves out over the year. The dogs just get more than their fair share week after week. Either they are doing something right or something is very very wrong.

I think there is a specific thread for this sort of comment 😍

Yes but let's not that get in a good way of a rosy red and blue glasses..

If Naughton was in Melbourne jumper and making this kind of impact at the Dees people like ucanchoose would be hailing him the next Wayne Carey..

Naughton is a star and would make our forward line significantly better in a whole new level. He actually would have someone else to take the heat off him like Ben Brown unlike at the Dogs where he's copping the best defender each week and having zero support from the other forwards.

Kicked 47 goals as a 21 year old last year and has already kicked 22. He's well on his way to kicking 50 plus this year.

Can't handle opposite views old dazzle.    He only scores goals when it's down his throat.  System player for a team that chips it around.    He wouldn't be any good in our system of bombing it long and locking it in.   Back to the blocklist.  Can't understand why you came off it

Surely you’re having a laugh! The guy is a star and I for one, would love to have him in our forward line.

Entitled to have  an opinion.   7 possessions and didn't look like getting near it in 2 of 3 quarters so far.

Down his throat? Come on, you’re coming across as someone who’s never seen him play for more than five minutes.

He launches at everything and often plucks it when he has no right to.
A fair chunk of this seasons goals have come from crumbing, quite a few on his opposite foot.
His biggest knock is set shot accuracy. Again he’s 22 and improving.

Every single team in the comp would pay overs to get him.

There's having views then there's this garbage there you tend to spew out half the time.

Aaron Naughton being overrated is up there being one of the funniest things I've read on here.

They are better than us of 2018...

The area of weakness I see with them is their mids are not yet fully committed to the defensive part of the game and when they break even or worse on contested ball it puts the defence under a lot of pressure and they concede scores.

We bat a lot deeper...but don't underrate them.

Rubbish.

10 rounds in we were 7-3, had scored 100 more points and conceded 100 fewer points. That's including beltings against Hawthorn and Richmond.

They are definitely similar to our 2018 but suggesting they are already better isn't accurate.

They're good but not better.

Mate your garbage about Melksham getting picked in the teams thread was the biggest pile of garbage ever written on this site

Two of his three goals today have been under pressure, one a snapped goal and the other a strong contested mark. If he’d kicked a little straighter, he’d have five goals. When he’s not marking, he’s getting the ball to ground for the crumbers.

Enjoyable game,  bulldogs just a little too much.   Gold Coast had plenty of grit

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Collingwood

Narrm time isn’t a standard concept—it’s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

  • AFLW REPORT: St. Kilda

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking.  We filled our boots with percentage — now a whopping 520.7% — and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourne’s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasn’t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's  six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his team’s unfulfilled potential rang true … well, almost.
