Big Freeze 8

The video that highlights Neil is no longer able to be the voice of the campaign had me chocked up.

Words can express the admiration i have for him,a truly all time great Australian

I just finished reading 'When All is Said and Done, More is Said Than Done' albeit the audiobook form.

Doing so has moved the Reverend to the top of my all time heroes list.

He has amazing values. He isn't a perfect human being, but his optimism and fight are awe inspiring.

I hope this year we take the opportunity and deliver the win for Neale. He deserves it.

You can never have too many big freeze beanies, in an industry that throws around superstar, elite and legend a bit too freely he stands above them all. Neale is an inspiration.

Neil got to see a flag, which I’m sure kept him in great spirits for the last few months.

He has done so much for the cause and is an absolute legend in our club.

I hope he is at peace with his family and his life because I’m saddened to think the end is near.

#FightMND

If the world had 10% of his resilience it would be a better place.

The bravest and strongest bloke in footy

Seriously Neale is just amazing. This beast is meant to kill you after 27 months. Neale has battled with it for 8 years. The fact he can still walk is even more amazing.

Unfortunately we won't hear that voice and the laugh but he is still here and got to walk his 2 daughters down the aisle, meet his grandchildren and see us win a flag, while raising all this money so hopefully in the future no one else has to go through this.

It will be great to be back at the G this year and see everyone in there beanies.

Talk about a man walking the talk ( definitely no pun intended). An absolute legend

Saw the great man slowly through the MCG car park before our game vs the Bombers and still had a big smile on his face.

Hoping he can keep fighting and see another flag

I know it’s all been said before, but superlatives almost seem inadequate to express ones feelings about Neale.

He is a hero.

A truly great man.

What a legacy.

It's all getting a bit more real now.. Such an amazing man, we'll be there for you Neale on QB!

I met Neale over 20 years ago at a club function at the G.  He spoke to the guests and had such passion for the club, the players and us as supporters. Brings a tear to my eyes to see him without a voice.  Bec will play on and be his voice.  Bec is strong like her Dad.

This campaign to fight MND is making a difference.  Neale is a hero and the FightMND legacy will continue.

We must all support this.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
