why would you want a untried coach like lyon or voss.

all they have is a name and ego just look at tim watson or tony show dont we want someone with back ground

so we can make a change for the better. lets face it we have some great blokes in the red and blue

Gary Odonnell assistant to Mathews whilst they won 3 flags and played in 4 grand finals and now at Essendon.

Mark Harvey assistant to Sheedy during 2000 Flag

John Longmire assistant to Roos 1 flag & 2 Grand Finals

All three above have been a part of winning culture and strong mental toughness as players and as assistants to teams that have shown the culture & leadership required to win flags

Longmire, O'Donnell, Ratten ??

Ratten would be a bit out there, he was credited with making our midfield tougher in the year that he was here. Viney might be a someone to consider, but i don't think he's had much AFL coach experience, i know he's had other experience though. I like the idea of going for someone a bit left-field, but i think I'll hurl if Lyon becomes our coach next year.

This is, of course, assume our season continues it's uncontrollable nose-dive. If we make top 4 as we all expected at the start i think we can let Neal off the hook!

I would be very surprised if gazza ever took up th eposition at Deeland..( maybe elsewhere ).. he will be EXPECTED to win a flag...anything less and it will be a let down..

They are mighty intimidating circumstances to take on a club not in the best of shape.

Left field may be quite ok.. Neil Craig certainly came from there.

Maybe the club could take on one of the current assistants but at same time get on board someone with experience ..but retired from day to day footy...to act as some sort of part time mentor as well. Its done with players...why not a coach.?

It appears that O'Donnell wants to be an administrator. What about Sheedy, Pagan or Malthouse if any of them are available? Not as silly as it sounds. None of them tolerate mental softness.

I'd like him gone regardless.

Lyon has had SOME coaching experience coaching the australian team to ireland a couple if times didnt he? obviously nothing like coaching an fl team but experience none the less

sheedy if available

longmire or odonnell would be nice

mckenna

ratten would be a good one too, loved his work with us before

think harvey has missed his boat

would love voss as a assistant

garry lyon said on triple M the other week that he will NOT coach afl football next year and possibly never! and the way he was saying it i beleive the never bit

I agree, there's just too much work for coaches to do in modern footy to give it to someone without any prior experience of any form.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
