Good kick Joe, nail these pretenders

Stewart out for Narkle will result in the 4 points in the end

no way the Cats can control Daniher, McStay and the small fwds all night

Not worried in the slightest about either of these sides. Honestly it's Melbourne vs Melbourne this year (i.e., we'll only lose if we're "off" IMO).

Yep, we need to schedule a lot of practice matches against ourselves come finals.....

The cats fans make West Coast fans seem reasonable and well mannered

throw from danger surely

Unbelievable non call, but seems like their is no such thing as incorrect disposal in this game

Not sure what the umpires are doing…

Judging by the umpiring this quarter, they're hitting the Malop St nightclubs

Unusual poor kicking from Cats

they should be up by 4-5 goals.

Fire up Lions!!!!!

God I hate Geelong.

Bunch of entitled knobs.

Can’t wait for us to beat them again.

Harmes, Viney or Sparrow to tag Neale when we play Brisbane? Has had no impact tonight and they are a much worse side when he's down

Why is everyone going for Brisbane?

Surely we take any loss we can get from Brisbane and keep them away from top 2. I have no interest in facing Brisbane at the GABBA in a qualifying or prelim final in the event we don’t finish top 2 or stuff up a home qualifying final.

BECAUSE WE DESPISE THE CATS AND THAT OVERRIDES ANY LOGIC

sorry for yelling

Because while I agree that it’s better for us that Brisbane lose, I have an irrational hatred of Geelong and I would pay top dollar to see them burn.

Watching Joe Daniher play footy actually makes me physically angry. He is just such a stupid footballer.

Dangerfield is one of the worst divers in the game, he should be embarrassed by his antics.

Joe D just has zero game sense, makes so many odd decisions.

I reckon the Bears might roll over them now ..... but... I'll have to find out tomorrow.

The Maid has the footy gear on ...... and ...well ...duty calls.

Hope she wins.

.. and dumb Joe thinks it is all a bit of a laugh. So glad we didn’t get near him when he was searching for a new home.

BT still trying to understand what an intercept mark is.

can he learn on his own time??

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.

The Demons lacked some polish but showed a lot of heart and took it right up to the Bulldogs in an attempt to spoil their finals hopes ultimately going down by a goal at the MCG.
