You gotta be joking - Franklin (11) and Hawkins (12) they are on their last legs . they need walking sticks to get themselves onto the ground.. Give me a break Robbo.

The other question I seriously have is... Is Bontempelli really that good ? He is not in my book a Number 2...

He is a gun. His 1st Quarter in the GF was 10/10

i just don’t understand why he is so underrated…

Correct should be in top 20 in the competition, also where is ED LANGDON??? Easily in top 50 easily!!

IMV It should read 1 Oliver 2 Tracc 3 Gawn 4 Bontempelli then the rest!

Agreed. Let him be under the radar. Certainly was a key player all through 2021 and especially on GF Day. Salem is a star.

I think there's a legit typo.

Zak Butters at 25.  125 perhaps? Maybe should be Zac Bailey?

Averaged 18 touches, 3 tackles and less than a goal a game last year.

Rowan Marshall at 15?

Above Jack Steele even?

Slobbo write this in his bar seat in the inverloch pub again?

I like when he has a few throws at the stumps.

Marshall is fit this year, was completely stuffed with injuries last year. And will get a lot of ruck minutes. It’s not unreasonable to suggest he’ll be the 2nd best ruck in the comp.

I love Zak Butters too, but he belongs in the 40’s with Bailey Smith and Zac Bailey, not in the 20’s with McCluggage.

That said, if you’re going to gamble on young players on the up then I think going Gawn at 5, Fyfe at 6, Buddy and Hawkins at 11, 12. Mitchell 40 and Grimes 41 is also going with a heap of veterans. I’d shift all of those back a few rungs.

Fritsch is also way too high. May, Lever, Salem are all comfortably better players than him.

Your continued under valuing of Fritta in comparison to our champion defenders is very strange.  He has now started to average more than 2 goals a game in the best AFL competition in the land. And he keeps oN improving. His bags over 2 per game including a stellar Finsls Series in the last half of the season were a sure sign of Bsyley being at the top of his game. 6 in the GF was nearly Norm Smith Medal standard.

You are also still one of the very few that have not recognised the skills and improvement inc. tackling and pressure in Bayleys game. Time  to admit you are wrong and give credit where credit is due.

There’s no evidence of significant improvement in his tackling and pressure. A little better, sure, but not a lot.

Im also rating him belong 3 defenders who have had AA level seasons over the last 2 years. I’m not saying he’s behind Jayden Hunt.

He finished 11th in our B+F. So I’m happy to be in the camp with the premiership coaches rather than Robbo and a bunch of other forum members.

Was extremely stiff not to get All Aus guernsey. By the end of the final series it was clear which one of he & Bailey Dale was the more effective player under pressure.

Spot on and these so called “Expert Hacks” have had all summer to watch the Final Series, and still he is not rated!

Trac was asked on AFL360 to name his top 5… he named Buddy as his number 5.

I think that over the course of his career Buddy would easily be a top 5 player. He was a freak. He still is, he is just on his last legs.

The issue is we need to start separating these lists into "top 50 of the last decade" vs "top 50 of the last year". Because those lists do change with time, but some 'experts' don't want to move on.

    THE CAVALRY ARRIVES by Megg

The injury plague which has beset the Demons 2024 campaign is finally starting to dissipate and with consecutive wins over GWS Giants and a 2-point nail-biter in Adelade, a sense of optimism is rising.  Some commentators are now asking whether the Dees can make finals? A huge surprise with team selection this week when it was announced that champs Olivia Purcell, Paxy Paxman and Eden Zanker would play.   Hallelujah!  The cavalry has arrived. St Kilda missed the finals last season on pe

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.
