Sorry if this has already been posted, was watching the Carlton replay and they said a new documentary on our premiership 'Every Heart Beats True' will premiere on Foxtel , Tuesday, March 8 at 8:30.

ADMIN EDIT DOCUMENTARY ATTACHED:

Have been waiting for something like this - Beaut!

This does look good. I have been looking out for one of those shows where the players sit in front of a screen and recall the grand final. Does anyone know if we are likely to get one of those?

Did I miss this or is this a new announcement?

If the latter...isn't it odd that the first we're hearing about this is 4 days before it airs?

Not really, they typically show it a week or so before the season and only start hyping it during the preseason games. It's a fox footy production not an MFC production.

Worth noting that it's going to cover more than just last year, as per FoxFooty article:

Quote

The compelling documentary delves into the club’s history, spinning fresh angles on the heartbreaking 1987 Preliminary Final loss, the 1996 attempted merger with Hawthorn, Neale Daniher’s stint as coach and more.

Sheesh, 10 mins in and already I’m crying.
#LoveyaJimmy

Life is incredibly cruel that Jim could never experience this glory.

Or Robbie.
At least Neale got to see it!

What did my grand dad and father bloody do too me?! I was 10 at Footscray, all the finals and the worst car ride home to Geelong in the Prelim.
Also it’s said on here often but Jesus we’ve had some horrible times with early deaths around this club.

Would love to see Roos at Round 1.

Pipedream I know, but he was so important to this club.

Good god, winning 7 games in 3 years.

So I’m watching this with my husband who is a recent arrival to the Melbourne supporting club thanks largely to me refusing to marry him if he didn’t get serious about AFL and Melbourne… when that Geelong loss was shown and then that stat was mentioned, he turns to me and goes “how is it possible to be this bad?”

He has no idea. Bloody bandwagoner!

One can so easily forget about Round 23 considering the run we had in the finals.

I need to go and watch that game again.

It’s been pretty depressing so far.
The good part is coming. I hear we win a flag in this one.

Two of my mates are Dees members, a Liverpool lad and a Kiwi… they just can’t believe the shot we fans went through in those dark years. Seeing the family name let alone there names on the flag is so amazing.

Oh man, this NEVER GETS OLD.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Gold Coast

On Friday, the Demons return to our Casey Fields fortress where they have a 77% win rate. The scent of September is in the air and the struggling Suns are on the horizon. The Cranbourne weather forecast? Ominous, like the match itself: a strong chance of carnage. Let’s be honest, last week’s first half against the West Coast was a training drill but we dropped our guard in the final quarter. While this match is a mismatch on paper — second versus seventeenth — football is won in the wind, the contests, and the moments.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #32 Tom Sparrow

The rugged Sparrow’s career appears to have plateaued in recent years. He makes the side on a week to week basis but he is unable to establish a foothold in the team’s midfield and arguably performs best outside of the contest in a forward position without being a goal kicker. He remains a good honest foot soldier but is not a star.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #33 Tom Fullarton

Fullarton managed a couple of games in the first half of the season but soon found himself back in the VFL. There, he found a niche at centre half back but it was not enough to retain a place on the list at season’s end.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #35 Harrison Petty

Entering 2025, it looked as if Petty would be secured in a defensive position, but plans shifted and he spent more time forward, averaging just over a goal per game throughout the season. It remains uncertain which area of the ground he will be expected to cover under the new coaching regime.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #36 Kysaiah Pickett

The dynamic small forward, possessing an innate ability to generate excitement with his explosive play around the goals, successfully transitioned into a role that afforded him more time in the midfield. The club also negotiated a long-term deal with Pickett, thereby eliminating any prospect of a move west by their star young player.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: #37 Kade Chandler

For a few years now, he has been a reliable, hard working pressure forward, but in 2025, Chandler elevated his performance, becoming an integral component of the team with enough versatility to play effectively on a wing from time to time.
