Are both Brown and Yze eligible for this yearโ€™s draft or just Brown?

Brown this year, Yze next and think Kalani White the year after that if I'm not mistaken.

Just an update on Kynan Brown and a little bit of Noah Yze.

A contact within Murray bushrangers attended the Oakleigh Chargers practice match on the weekend against Sandringham. He's an opposition club scout.

His opinion was he thought Kynan was close to BOG for the chargers playing as a midfielder. Was quite impressive around the stoppages and showed a high level of grunt and speed as well.

He reckons he'll push himself into top 20 draft calculations if he keeps this form consistent all year.

Noah Yze also played as a bottom ager and he reckons he showed some really exciting traits and little bit of X factor at times throughout the game.

Played forward majority of the game and he reckons he's a genuine watch for 2024.

I have to admit you are becoming a better poster I may have to take you off my ignore list. That's great news.

I was hoping #3 was Brown but worried it was Lorenz. My take away so far (watching on and off) is that his tank seems to be much more developed than the other mids and seems to be ready to โ€œhuntโ€ it more than others. I thought Oakleighโ€™s clearance game suffered when he wasnโ€™t in there.ย
ย

I thought #15 was a top ager (Yze is bottom age). His kicking and vision are afl level and while skinny, he looks like he stands up to the older boys. I also thought you could see he has been in a program (or at least his dad is coaching him). His half forward running is fantastic. Up and down a lot of unrewarded running ย and doesnโ€™t get sucked into the content. Set up a beautiful goal before half time where he ran into space, lost his man, and instead of blazing for goal he put a pass out in front of Oakleighs key forward who had no choice but to run to the ball as it โ€œDrewโ€ him in. Itโ€™s only one half - but if I was picking players I would want to be drafted to Melbourne - theyโ€™d be in my top 5 Iโ€™ve seen today.ย

Is there a replay to be found at the game?

Kynan had a solid game today picking up 23 disposals and kicked 1.1

Watched the whole game today and all I will say is that Melbourne fans will be excited when he officially becomes a Dee.ย

Daz, is he bigger than dad or about the same?

His dad was as courageous a player as you would see.

Can you please compare him to a current player please? Someone in the top 30 players in the comp. Ta.

About the same. Young Kynan is a hard nut though. Played majority of the game on ball and more forward in the last quarter. He's an in and under who's got a good burst of speed out of the stoppages.

Honestly he's like a cleaner and quicker version of Jack Viney. Sometimes I even see Josh Daicos as well with how nimble he can be around stoppages.

He's a left footer at similar height. One thing that caught me by surprise watching him was his vision and awareness especially going inside 50.

There were times I thought he was going to blaze away when he would burst out of stoppages but he lowered his eyes and would hit up the leading forward. His ball use is very clean and certainly won't have any issues with delivering the footy inside 50 or around the ground in general.ย

Really intrigued to see how he's goes this year especially when the under 18's championships start.

Thank you, I will hold you to this comparison until the robots take over.

So another 6 yearsโ€ฆ

Applying my MFCSS I wonder how long it will take the AFL to change the F/S rule to stop us getting Brown, Yze and White and then to change it back again.

I can't see them personally changing the F/S.ย

I think where it's set now in terms of games qualifications is perfect imo.

The term "Kamakaze" springs to mind!ย  Seem to recall that when he first started, he would constantly throw himself in with such gay abandon that he would invariably get himself injured, and miss the following week.

Yes. Some think he may be a top 20 pick.

Great, the more of his type the better. Seems ready to go

Could he be our Nick Daicos?

Both Daicos brothers and the Brown brothers (and the Silvagni brothers too) started out at the same junior footy club, obviously not in the same teams given the age differences.

Things can change with age, but from what I understand the Daicos boys always looked like they were going to make it and the Browns were not at a similar level of obvious talent.

For those with a spare arvo before tomorrow nightโ€™s game, Kynan is playing VAFA B grade footy at Como Park at 2.00 for the Ogs (who his old man coaches) v Fitzroy. Will report back post game.

And yet still went on to have children. Nathan 'Doggy' Brown we salute you.

Has been named to play for the Vic Metro side in the Young guns game against U20s who have missed out on recent drafts, good chance to once again face some slightly bigger bodies and put his name in front of a crowd full of recruiters.

Did a couple of nice things but didnโ€™t stand out.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecastโ€”20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze โ€” expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kateโ€™s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwoodโ€™s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.

  • CASEY: Williamstown

The Casey Demons issued a strong statement to the remaining teams in the VFL race with a thumping 76-point victory in their Elimination Final against Williamstown. This was the sixth consecutive win for the Demons, who stormed into the finals from a long way back with scalps including two of the teams still in flag contention. Senior Coach Taylor Whitford would have been delighted with the manner in which his team opened its finals campaign with high impact after securing the lead early in the game when Jai Culley delivered a precise pass to a lead from Noah Yze, who scored his first of seven straight goals for the day. Yze kicked his second on the quarter time siren, by which time the Demons were already in control. The youngster repeated the dose in the second term as the Seagulls were reduced to mere

Narrm time isnโ€™t a standard conceptโ€”itโ€™s the time within the traditional lands of Narrm, the Woiwurrung name for Melbourne. Indigenous Round runs for rounds 3 and 4 and is a powerful platform to recognise the contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in sport, community, and Australian culture. This week, suburban footy returns to the infamous Victoria Park as the mighty Narrm take on the Collingwood Magpies at 1:05pm Narrm time, Sunday 31 August. Come along if you can.

The Dees demolished the Saints in a comprehensive 74-pointshellacking. ย We filled our boots with percentage โ€” now a whopping 520.7% โ€” and sit atop the AFLW ladder. Melbourneโ€™s game plan is on fire, and the competition is officially on notice.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

It was yet another disappointing outcome in a disappointing year, with Melbourne missing the finals for the second consecutive season. Indeed, it wasnโ€™t even close, as the Demons' tally of seven wins was less than half the number required to rank among the top eight teams in the competition. When the dust of the game settled and supporters reflected on Melbourne's ย six-point defeat at the hands of close game specialists Collingwood, Max Gawn's words about his teamโ€™s unfulfilled potential rang true โ€ฆ well, almost.ย
