Trac letting Darcy know that next year he’ll be Freo’s number 2 Ruckman to a guy who has more flags than the entire Freo list combined.

Interesting that Darcy didn’t want any part of the aggro against him, after the back tap on Tracc.

Noticed that!

Players would know Trac is one of the fairest players going around, who rarely wastes his energy agitating.

It was almost like Darcy had conceded “yeah I probably shouldn’t have done that”

Trac is also an absolute beast. i wouldn't be surprised if despite his size. Darcy was a little bit intimidated.

Disappointing if he is just running after the money. I guess it's of course his choice.

Based on last night's performance Freo are really far off being a contender.

How good was it seeing Melksham pull that jumper down last night? Arrogant supporters acting like it’s a done deal.

If he has to go I hope he goes to the Eagles now, and plays a blinder in every Derby.

Expand

Why is everyone slamming this? Waving a Freo jumper with Jackson no.6. Its clearly fake so what did they expect?

You do know where his family and mates live, don’t you?

I never buy the narrative of 'homesick', FFS we live in 2022 not 1970. You are just a 3 hour flight from home. Not saying it is not a contributing factor but most definitely the money weighs more into the decision.

The accepted view seems to be that he would stay a couple of years if no deal can be done. It is an opportunity for him to go home and play for the club he barracked for.

IMO we have been pragmatic and started looking at what we can get out of it, rather than keep him for a couple of years and go through all of this again for another year.

We can really  plug some list holes if we are smart.

Didn't he barrack for the Weagles? I thought his idol was Nic Nat

For better or worse loyalty is not a thing to the kids coming through these days. They grow up watching NBA & NFL where players, the champions too, regularly change sides.

That's just complete guesswork otherwise why use qualifiers like "at a minimum..." and "plus" twice.

You're a clown, Jay. At least stick to the fee of 850k or the term of six years.

Jay Clark clearly doesn't realise that, if you do a backflip, you end up exactly where you started from.

In other words, your position has not changed.

If you're reading this Jay, don't feel too bad.  It's a very common mistake among "journalists".

The difference being that in the NFL or NBA top draft picks usually play at the very least 5 or 6 years with the teams that picks them.

Will be really interesting to see how Jackson goes at Freo next year when he doesn’t have Gawn mentoring him. Jackson is still learning the craft and this is a massive thing in my eyes where u learn from the best.

Our team is far superior to Freo and with Jackson going on big money (by all reports) will come with massive pressure to perform. He will be the no1 ruck i assume where as he is no2 now  so less pressure

Good luck with feral Freo supporters Jacko.

These days? This has been going on well past this generation. Let's not make out that it's today's issue. For every Luke Jackson there's a Clayton Oliver, Petracca and Brayshaw who've pledge their loyalty to this club. Not counting other players from other clubs who've done the same.

Jeff White, Ron Barrasi, Tony Lockett, Kelvin Templeton, Jeff Farmer, Gerard Healy.. I can keep going?

Peter Bell never learns. I sent him an email about the Fremantle acquisition of Hogan and he replied that they thought they had a really good player. They got next to nothing out of Hogan despite him growing up a Freo fan. Doesn’t the Jackson situation look kind of similar?
