Redlegs are behind the goals level 2 and they’re recently introduced level 2a (previously if you had guests from the opposition club you were required to go to 2a).
There are two types of Redleg memberships available on level 2. Reserved seats / non reserved, the reserved are all sold out but during the week the club called me and I was able to upgrade a second membership (general admission) I had only purchased days earlier to another Redleg non reserved seat. I personally find the non reserved a better option because you may not like who you’re sitting next to or you can move depending on the weather between four bays on level 2. There is a big screen to the right for when the ball goes up the other end of the ground.

In short I’d ring the club and not take what on the website for granted as when they rang me they were going through waiting lists and presenting me with different options.

The seats they offered were reserved seating and had not been taken yet. I was told that I could upgrade to Olympic stand once they had some more clarity from previous reserved seat members and whether they renewed or let the membership expire. Expected Jan 2022.

im prepared to give it a go but am not sure what I can do if I wanted to bring an additional guest with me in a reserved seat area.

Will chew on it for another day or so but I reckon I’ll bite the bullet. Hope it’s not another COVID interrupted season.

I have been a reserved M51 member for years. On the question of bringing a “guest” the club said it would not be to a reserved seat, rather as General Admission. I suspect there will be very few “spare” seats in the reserved seat areas for the next few years at least. Nice problem to have!

Both Trident and Redlegs can bring additional guests ( at a cost, plus general admission) although I'm not sure where you can sit for the coming season. The guest/s can join you in the Ryder & Hassett Rooms and Cuthbert Lounge. Trident and Redlegs come with an option of 2 Guest passes instead of a Scarf etc. Still need to purchase a General Admission.

Doubt it but we've saved so much not being able to go to home games and canceled flights and accom for 2 interstate games that we're going to sponsor a player.

I havent received an email as yet, it usually comes when the fixture is released.

I’d take what you can get for now, but also put your name on the waiting list for other options should they arise.
I’m not sure how guest passes work in areas with reserved seats, as in if the bay is all reserved and everyone is in attendance where does your guest sit? Maybe up on 2a?
In the unreserved Redlegs area there were always empty seats. I was told though that whilst any restrictions remain in place on crowd numbers, guest passes would not be available.

I’m looking at my 2022 options and really wanted to get something in the Olympic stand as that is where the fans seem to congregate. However everything seems to be sold out on level 2 reserved seating.

I’m looking now at Trident level for me and my son in the southern stand just on the HF flank. Never watched a game from there but managed to get this Virtual view generated online. Seems pretty good but not sure how immersed well be with other Dees fans on this side of the ground.

my son wants ground level (10yo) so he can be closer to the action but I told him it’s not as good to watch the game unfold and you end up watching the game in the screen.

HF line Punt Rd End in the Great Southern Stand there is the Demon Seats on level 1. A fair few turn up when we’re up and about (non-Covid times). I imagine there’ll be a fair few come next year.

An idea for someone who is involved in membership at the club: Could the club offer stickers (eg for your car) that has number of years of membership / consecutive years of membership.  There will obviously be a lot of bandwagon supporters jumping on which is great for the club but I think most long terms members / supporters would love to be able to show they've been there the whole time.

I second that! (worth more than just a 👍, dfa)

We can write to Membership as well. This address gets a personal (though I don't know how influential) response: [email protected]

You could also mount your 2021 membership card on your window!😉 I am particularly pleased to have this memento of this wonderful year!

Great initiative by the club on a number of fronts:

  • hit members whilst we're on a high
  • no price rise - unlike at least two other clubs (Dogs, Tigers) who increased or downgraded membership packages following their premiership (not that we've won a flag recently)
  • the option (which I took up) to donate the membership package back to the club. I've recently taken a dozen scarves to the Salvos.

I mentioned in another thread how the Bulldogs alienated a very significant number of their members in relation to point 2 above.
Dogs membership climbed by 9k after their flag win, but then only 6k in the next 4 years. And that includes their introduction of a  Ballarat 2-game membership.

Correct me if I'm wrong M_9, but Trident memberships have gone up nearly 10% for 2022

You got a premiership. Not enough?

I have a Platinum (Redlegs Home and Away) membership and posted after receiving a letter around September that, from memory, said there'd be no rise in the cost of my membership.

I no longer have the letter and may have misread it. I pay by direct debit and I think that recommences next month.

Other membership categories may not have had a price freeze..

Alternatively I may have been rewarded for having a premium membership for more than 20 years. J first purchased a membership in 1962.

My membership, which includes the GFG, is far cheaper than my Cats and Bulldog supporting mates who pay significantly more for an equivalent membership.

My understanding is that there's a long wait for a GFG membership at all of the big four clubs..

The club has frozen all membership prices for 2022.

I know it is very early days but does anyone know how we're tracking atm with membership numbers?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.

  • NON-MFC: Round 07

Round 7 gets underway in iconic fashion with the traditional ANZAC Day blockbuster. The high-flying Magpies will be looking to solidify their spot atop the ladder, while the Bombers are desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top eight. Later that evening, Fremantle will be out to redeem themselves after a disappointing loss to the Demons, facing a hungry Adelaide side with eyes firmly set on breaking into the top four. Saturday serves up a triple-header of footy action. The Lions will be looking to consolidate their Top 2 spot as they head to Marvel Stadium to clash with the Saints. Over in Adelaide, Port Adelaide will be strong favourites at home against a struggling North Melbourne. The day wraps up with a fiery encounter in Canberra, where the Giants and Bulldogs renew their bitter rivalry. Sunday’s schedule kicks off with the Suns aiming to bounce back from their shock defeat to Richmond, taking on the out of form Swans. Then the Blues will be out to claim a major scalp when they battle the Cats at the MCG. The round finishes with a less-than-thrilling affair between Hawthorn and West Coast at Marvel. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.

  • PREGAME: Richmond

The Dees are back at the MCG on Thursday for the annual blockbuster ANZAC Eve game against the Tigers. Can the Demons win back to back games for the first time since Rounds 17 & 18 last season? Who comes in and who goes out?
