It's been a massive few days for former MFC skipper Jack Trengove.

Won the Keith Sims OAM Medal (the Brownlow equivalent) in the Adelaide Football League on Thursday night.

He was then BOG in a premiership victory as his Prince Alfred Old Collegians beat Payneham Norwood Union in the Div 1 Grand Final on the weekend.

Said it's the most enjoyable season of football he's ever played.

Congrats Trenners!

Appreciate that it was early in his career but I believe the incident with Dangerfield that led to his 3 match suspension left it’s mark on Jack. He was a fair player and he never really lived up to the potential he showed in his early days at the club. Not long after being appointed co-captain with Jack Grimes, the injuries came and he was never the same.

Hopefully, in addition to his success at home, he got a measure of satisfaction from Dangerfield’s plight as Melbourne dismantled his team on Friday night.

Great bloke , got a cruel hand and kept positive and never dropped his bundle. Was amazing his rookie year really thought we had a 250 game future Captain, didn't work out but I know for a fact his heart beats true.

A very thoughtful and well spoken person, Trengove. His speech at the Melbourne B&F when he departed the Dees was first-class. Great to see he's had such a successful season, and is still getting joy from the game.

Looks bloody fit enough to be playing AFL.

Jack Trengove rang Paul Roos and instigated a meeting with him to beg him to consider coaching us and Roos agreed to meet with him to get the ball rolling.

Trengove has played a bigger part in where we are at the moment that what alot of people realise.

Great person and Melbourne Football man.

Remember a interview he did with someone on TV where he was asked about drugs or supplements (might have been during the essendon thing)He turned the the reporter and bluntly said "Not at this club".

Love Trenners. So happy for him

such a gentleman

Another flag for Jack Trengove on the weekend.

Congratulations to Billy Stretch, too, on tasting premiership success with Glenelg.

Two ex-Demons doing good things back home.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
