Popular Post Grapeviney 9,929 Posted September 12, 2021 Popular Post Posted September 12, 2021 It's been a massive few days for former MFC skipper Jack Trengove. Won the Keith Sims OAM Medal (the Brownlow equivalent) in the Adelaide Football League on Thursday night. He was then BOG in a premiership victory as his Prince Alfred Old Collegians beat Payneham Norwood Union in the Div 1 Grand Final on the weekend. Said it's the most enjoyable season of football he's ever played. Congrats Trenners! 47 1 11 Quote
Blistering 545 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Appreciate that it was early in his career but I believe the incident with Dangerfield that led to his 3 match suspension left it’s mark on Jack. He was a fair player and he never really lived up to the potential he showed in his early days at the club. Not long after being appointed co-captain with Jack Grimes, the injuries came and he was never the same. Hopefully, in addition to his success at home, he got a measure of satisfaction from Dangerfield’s plight as Melbourne dismantled his team on Friday night. 3 Quote
Bates Mate 4,520 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Great bloke , got a cruel hand and kept positive and never dropped his bundle. Was amazing his rookie year really thought we had a 250 game future Captain, didn't work out but I know for a fact his heart beats true. 2 Quote
gs77 4,614 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 A very thoughtful and well spoken person, Trengove. His speech at the Melbourne B&F when he departed the Dees was first-class. Great to see he's had such a successful season, and is still getting joy from the game. 5 Quote
Bitter but optimistic 22,289 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 I had the pleasure of meeting Jack at a function when he was still Captain Terrific young man. I’m glad he’s enjoying life 7 Quote

Wrecker46 3,130 Posted September 12, 2021 Posted September 12, 2021 Jack Trengove rang Paul Roos and instigated a meeting with him to beg him to consider coaching us and Roos agreed to meet with him to get the ball rolling. Trengove has played a bigger part in where we are at the moment that what alot of people realise. Great person and Melbourne Football man. 4 3 2 Quote
