There's a lot going on over the next week. Post all information and comments about NON MFC Week 2 of the finals here including Match Day chat of the 2 Semis.

Shame we can't just stay in SA

Afl biggest worry is if covid hits wa from interstate . The more teams in perth  asap the better. I know port is set for home prelim and lions home semi  , things could change rapidly. Wouldnt surprise me  if Optus stadium booked for 2 matches next week and  2 matches prelim week  just in case

Hey mods, 'NON MFC' in the thread title is redundant. We aren't playing this week (and it feels so good!)... 😉

Pretty pointless to put (NON MFC) in the title I would have thought Andy.

Mainly so that Demons news isn't posted here.

If our boys stay healthy and on what I've seen this weekend we could be a just a Jeremy Cameron hamstring strain away from a flag.

May all semi finals be hard slogs with lots of bodies being hit hard.

And may they be shaken by lightning strikes, and beaten by aggressive bouncers.

Amen.

I think the dogs may win. Out of Geelong and GWS I think the cats unfortunately but I would rather play GWS in the prelim.

Cats obviously can’t afford to be that bad two weeks in a row, but...

R20 beat Roos but looked horribly shaky
R21 lost Giants and only won the last qtr
R22 beat Saints but lost first half
R23 lost Demons but only won one qtr, and gave up a 44 point lead to lose by 4 points.
QF lost Port losing every qtr and only kicking 5 goals the entire game.

It's a five week block of poor quality football by the Cats...'cept for that 15-minutes about which, we do not talk. Completely running against what we'd come to expect from them.

There's no third chance, is there?

Do they go with the same group?
Or bring in the big Fijian?

All I hope for is two teams to beat the absolute [censored] out of each other, and turn up Fri week in a demoralised, battered state against us.

think with their raft of green/e injuries and suspensions, plus likely cumming too, that the geelong geriatrics will be able to hold out gw$ who came to a shuddering halt in the last quarter versus the swans

expecting the bears to bounce back at home

The Cats are a proud group. I expect them to beat GWS convincingly.

Without McStay and Hipwood the Lions have little HF connection or marking power going forward.  Tag Cameron and they are struggling

I think the dogs have regained some form and will beat the Lions in a thriller.  Don't forget the Dogs were favourites for the flag a fair chunk of the year and are only really missing Bruce

Agree Cats.
I think Lions will beat the dogs. Dogs have no ruck, and a really fragile defence. I think the rain helped cover up those 2 major flaws.  If Lions halve clearances dogs are done. Daniher won’t be playing on Steven May this week, and Cameron is in great form.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie
