Can someone tell Abbey Holmes to tone down on the dramatics?

Pendles has got a minor knock to the leg, not a career ending fractured leg in 8 pieces.

Leave Abbey alone BBP!

Pies first gamer, Irish recruit Anton Tohill is son of Anthony Tohill who played a game for us in the 90’s. He is listed as 200 cm! Interesting to see how he goes.

Why not!   Can't stand Port and would love to see them miss the double chance / home finals.  Hec I'd love to see them miss all together.   That song pre match and Kochy always predicting they are on for the premiership every season ?

They even played that song with no crowd in attendance. ?

And Travis are a scots band. You might remember the tune Why Does It Always Rain On Me. All Celtic supporters I believe (puke).

Yeah, they're weegies. They took their name from the main character in the Wim Wenders movie Paris, Texas.

I loved that movie.

Can someone explain what the rule is that pertains to "front on contact" is?

Why does it only apply to marking contests and not when a ball is rolling in a particuler direction.

The way I see it is you cannot take a mark running in the same direction as the ball for fear of touching an opponent running the other way.

Weegies? What does that mean?

Generally I love women in the media and can't stand the blokes. But when AH gets going . . . . . . she goes off like a frog in a sock.

Yeah, I haven't seen it in ages but bringing it up now makes me want to see who might be streaming it online. I love the desert landscape and spent a bit of time around the Mojave a few years ago. One of my favourite films is called Bagdad Cafe which was filmed in the area and has the same sort of vibe to it.

Glaswegians (from Glasgow), or Glesga' as we say.

I think it is about interfering with the marking contest/genuine attempt.  Players who don’t have eyes on the ball and collide with a marking player are deemed to be interfering with a genuine attempt.

And that song Calling You from Baghdad Cafe is so good! Another film from that era was the Coen Brothers effort, Raising Arizona.

It’s big in Northern Ireland too. Gets a good run in Derry Girls.

Yeah, love that song from the movie Hardtack. The cafe is in Newberry Springs and was known as the Sidewinder Cafe back then. I camped next to it for a few days when I was taking photos in the area. Barely a soul around. The film itself has a beautiful light to it.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
