Finally Baker nails a kick to Brown on the lead and like a dead eye [censored] he nails it

For those of us not watching….

Straight in front or deep in a pocket, rough distance?

cheers

That straight kick inside 50 was great, that's the Melksham I'd love to have back in the team. His kicks before that were poor though. Would love him to turn it on the rest of the game and get back in the side.

I would love it too :)

Brown had a dreadful first half and is playing on Bomber Thompson’s fat son who hasn’t played a VFL game since 2013. Pump the brakes on his return

45 degrees, 40 out on the right hand side looking at the goals I'd say. Umpire did not move.

Mitch brown out of selected side with a heel injury they're saying??

30 out, 30 degree angle.

Then doubles back and crumbs one in the square after a Rosman long kick sailed over all the players.

Oskar Baker has come in to it in the last 10 minutes. He’s been the driving force of the momentum changing back

Alright, lock in Browny next week I reckon.

no way ,who would he push out

Rosman seems to get to the right spots but his kicking seems to let him down compared to most other players - If Williams and co can improve this, I think he could be a special player.

Did the commentary say that Williams sees a bit of Wanganeen in Deakyn Smith?  High praise.

Jones has turned back the clock with his performance so far - I thought he was done but maybe he will get another crack at senior level yet.

Lovely centering kick from melk on the boundary.  Hits weid beautifully

Behind from dead in front

Seriously weid

Fingers crossed, Melks

this a very ordinry performance by our afl players except jones who is a class above this level

Pending rest of the game, it could be something like Brown and Jones/Melk in, Sparrow and Spargo/Kozzy out.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
