It’s 3 notoriously headline seeking Medicos in the US who reject the need for randomised controlled trials (RCT) to legitimise drug efficacy. The entire medical model of medication-based therapy (prevention and cure) is based on RCTs. Ivermectin has not met any standards of efficacy in RCTs. That is science. Any quoting of its positive effect anecdotal, and we went down this route early with hydroxychloroquine. It’s a distraction to create notoriety and fuel spurious reportage. If only we could put all that energy into the KNOWN EVIDENTIAL SCIENCE - vaccination and effective quarantine , we’d be a lot happier and healthier.

Thanks Webber. It's hard to make sense of this world

Gee do you think gws and sydney are complaining having to go to brisbane to play this weekend rathar than ballarat?

It might also be worth pointing out to those who think hydroxychloroquine might be helpful, that it, too, can also have serious side-effects. I used to have it prescribed for me (under the product name of Plaquenil) as a treatment for arthritis and had to have my eyes checked regularly because one of its deleterious known side-effects is some form of eye damage. I'm no longer taking it as alternative drugs are doing a better job. And my eyes, thankfully, are fine.

In short...follow the science and trust the medical establishment as a group to know what it's talking about and don't listen to a few people who might have Doctor in front of their name but operate outside the main stream. And definitely don't let people without medical training influence your decisions.

As exposure to bright light was the other treatment mooted, I’ve tried swallowing a switched on torch. However, I had the foresight to have it wrapped in a hot dog roll and smothered in mustard.

I’m well ahead of the pair of you.

Games now being relocated to QLD but ...

The disease could spread to QLD from NSW as their border is still open and Covid finds a way to travel anyway

The AFL are trying to outrun Covid but they'll need a good dose of luck

So the AFL is evacuating to a state that also has community transmission.

Gil must really love the hub accommodation up there.

For what it's worth, I reckon Gil and the AFL have done an extraordinary job at keeping the 2020 and 2021 seasons going. Just imagine the hours he and his team must have worked as they traverse the logistical minefield which keeps changing daily. Kudos.

Completely agree and also a big shout out to AFL clubs as a whole. They’ve been really flexible and adapted and adjusted at the drop of a hat to keep the season going.
While I don’t have massive sympathy for players earning 6 figures, they are still human and they still have families. Them being away or having to adjust their schedule constantly would be really damn hard on their partners and kids who also have lives.
I know that Tmac’s newborn was in hospital this week for example. Now imagine if that happens and he’s interstate due to Covid for an extended period of time. That would be really hard for any parent, AFL player or not. So I applaud everyone involved for getting on with it and making sure the season goes ahead.
It seems we’ve had an issue in virtually every round of the season and yet we haven’t had to cancel a single game or compromise the schedule too much.

The Medusa touch (good movie too!)

Call the season off now and give the premiership to the team that's on top...

I laugh, but in hindsight, that would be kind of gutting.

I want to see Maxy and Goody on the dais somewhere holding that cup up after a hard fought game. To have it given to us at a Sam Mitchell/Trent Cotchin Brownlow ceremony like affair would be a huge anti climax.

Same 'Colin'...we would feel robbed of the true experience.

Two more positive cases at the G now in that MCC level 2 area.
No chance we are going to the footy this weekend.

It’s going to be harder to open games to crowds now this has happened. Gil is def earning his money

Dees V Hawks in Metricon for the double header (@Brownie, we going?) or to Bris.

Hub/Stay there (QLD), off to Darwin for the Suns game, or bring that back to Metricon also.

Hmmm..maybe we can if we don't touch any surfaces and then touch our eyes, nose or mouth.

Hope not.

I'd rather play this game at the G in front of nobody where we need to log as many minutes as possible at the venue we'll be playing finals at.

Our last 2 performances at the G have been far from impressive after a 6 week hiatus from the G.

Wow. That's one of the best answers I've seen on this site.

Strong suggestions that these 'removalists' were moving a lot more than furniture across state lines.

Regardless they broke multiple rules clearly stated on their Freight Permit, including prolonged interaction with clients and not wearing masks.

So yes 10/10 would throw them and their bosses in jail.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
