It's a tier 2 site. Level 2 MCC Members.

Tier 2 means you need to get tested immediately and isolate until you get a negative result.

So if anyone on Demonland was at that game, shame on you for wasting your precious life, but also, go get tested!

It takes humans over 20 years to get into Level 2 of the MCC Members. It took Covid just a few days.

If that's not a justification for everyone getting vaccinated, I don't know what is.

Are you suggesting our club spread Covid to Sydney?!

No I’m not but it’s stories like these along with the NRL player who is seeking an exemption to watch his wife give birth today and travel to the QLD in his personal car whilst most people can’t get interstate to see a terminally ill loved one that have people asking why are there so many contradictions with the rules.

So, logically, you’d have to think a hard 6 week lockdown for anyone who barracks for either of those 2 teams is the only solution.

It’s for the good of the nation.

Both teams should be removed from the competition for 2 weeks.

No surprise. It was only a matter of time. The only surprise is that it took a day or two longer than I expected.

Yes, the fickle finger of fate

It justifies my decision to stay away from the G until vaccinated. My second shot is booked for 30/7.

Had to edit it OD as it appears it was the son of the hospital admittee that went to the MCC.... but yes he was infected

My second shot is a four days after yours. Go Dees

This post nearly gave me a heart attack. I've just realised you mean there is a 60+ year old unvaccinated person in hospital. On my first reading I thought you meant there were now more than 60 people in hospital with Covid. As bad as it is, one person in hospital is significantly less unnerving than there being more than 60.

So the removalists came from a hot zone, worked all day in a crowded apartment block not wearing masks, refused to give travel details, roamed all over the place etc

Jail the ba#&@ds and bankrupt the company.

I might be able to sneak into the Dogs game if it is still in Victoria.

AND as soon at it gets in, it kicks everyone else out.

I for one refuse to go to any party that little [censored] is going to. Of course, being in Sydney that means I've literally left the house just three times in the last five days and only once did I actually enter any other enclosed space. Toilet paper waits for no man.

I've got family down in Victoria who really shrink into themselves at any mention of another lockdown so like most people on here I'm clinging to the desperate hope that the current 'seven in one' cluster is as far as things go.

There may be some satisfying irony in that once they go to jail they will be so hated in there they will have to spent much of their sentence in protective isolation.

Restrictions are looming.

Can anyone foresee the possibility of the 25K travel limit coming in but still letting people attend this weekend's footy, provided they don't travel more than 25K.

WA shut the border to Victoria because they are literally the worst. Geelong KOD and now don't need to play Freo at Optus Stadium?

I really really really really don't have enough bad things to say about the removalists who did the wrong thing and the family who came back on a red zone permit and went to Coles. I hope all these people rot in the pits of hell for eternity!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If they cap the crowd this week then how about they do something about social distancing? Instead of cramming everyone into smaller zones make the entire ground available and have stewards requesting people give distance between the next person. It’s far and away the most baffling thing about how Australia has managed reopening of things.

If they do cap the crowds I assume we will still be safe with 20,000. Doubt anyone is turning up from Hawthorn.

Effective immediately, Victoria will be upgraded from “very low risk” to “low risk”, meaning arrivals from the State will be required to immediately get tested, self-isolate for a fortnight and be swabbed again on day 11.

Virgin flight VA681 from Melbourne touched down in Perth just after 1.30pm this afternoon and another Virgin flight VA9001 carrying Geelong’s AFL squad from the city is already in the air and due to touch down at 2.45pm.

The Cats are scheduled to battle Fremantle at Optus Stadium Thursday night.

Pushing to get a decent-sized crowd as it is. ?

They just said on the news Geelong will be met by police, taken to be tested and then told to isolate until they return a negative test result.

NSW may have done SFA for too long, but WA is another level of hysteria altogether. Absolute clowns.

I have a level 2 seat in the members for this Saturday. I hope they have deep cleaned all the seats.

Bloody nsw removalists. I wonder if they will inflict covid into South Australia and stuff them up.

Nah something amuses me about geelong being stuffed around and having to go through all of this.

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front. They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
