Memo to players .... don't cough up goals in the first and/or last minute of quarters.

Memo to mids....dont get jumped again.

My message to the team would be run, run, run.

That swarm has beaten others, and we do it all over the field.

We aren't doing stupid things when we have the ball, so don't start today. Do the basics well and take your opportunities.

Hoping for a stylish high skilled game with a lot of effort and 1 percenters.

I still want them to be angry and not to ease up on a middle of the table team.

Need our accuracy and centre clearances to improve.

We must have confidence, which helps in game planning and  the ability to implement the things they work on during the week, plus having a smile at their workplace, I expect continued improvement.

Agree about getting jumped early and coughing up junk time goals.  Don't allow it.

Go Dees

Who is the med sub?  Melky's the sub. Great to have experience around the players and if called on.

            How is the weather?

We're playing one of the only sides comparable to us for poor starts: both us and them have only won 3 of 8 first quarters this year (North, Fremantle, Adelaide and St Kilda are the only other sides in the competition less than 4).

They're 6 of 8 in third quarters, but only 4 of 8 in fourth quarters (we're 7 of 8 and the only loss was last week to Sydney by a point).

Is anyone behind the goals at the Punt road end singing "Youll Never Walk Alone?"

:)

A W in the W/L column is all that's required

I reckon we'll have that covered halfway through the 2nd quarter, and really turn it on. A 10 goal win is there for the taking.

Also, since sacking Brendan Bolton in mid-2019, Carlton have lost 20 games. But of those 20 losses, only two have been by more than 5 goals (a 68 point loss to Geelong in the last round of 2019 and a 31 point loss to Hawthorn last year).

So they don't always win, but under Teague they rarely get well beaten.

Would love to see a big first quarter today.

We’ve only won the first quarter in three matches this year, and with the exception of Rd 1 against the Dockers, not by much at all.

Of the teams we’ve lost first quarters to are the Hawks and the Roos.

Our slow starts can’t become the norm.

Gerard on 360 said that May needed the scalp of McKay today in order to be seen as sitting alongside Andrews, Moore and Weitering in the elite fullback club.

Although that is garbage as he already sits comfortably alongside them, and it’s one game, if that’s what he and others need to allow him into the elite club then so be it.

I’ll take a win and Maysie giving Harry a nice bath.

Shallowly assumptive of the star qualities; just look at the points against for the team across the ladder. That will tell you who is most likely to be the most effective at fullback, holding the whole defence together and initiating plays into attack. May is already up there and simultaneously, ahead.

According to BT on ch 7

when we have one the first 9. We have gone on to win the flag.   Please win today.   Go Dees

Absolutely essential and attitude-shaping.

Did Bowey get injured yesterday? On crutches.

Yes he got injured early in yesterday’s game against the Cats.

Watching the guys pay each other on the back etc before going out into the ground

what did The pie player fo that was so bad ?

I am literally surrounded by Carlton supporters. I must’ve done something heinous in a previous life. ?

GO DEEEEZ!!!

❤️?

Expecting more from Hunt. A few 100 m dashes down the middle with a couple of sausages.mmmm.sausages.

I wish that I was at the game, it is much harder when you are watching from home not so many distractions to take your mind off the pre game jitters. Three daughters and grandson are there. I am desperately wanting this Winning feeling to continue, on and on and on.....!!!!

Go Dee’s !!!!!!!!

I want to see AnB and perhaps Hunt have a blinder. Cos if they can do well and they are our ( arguable ) unpredictable players. We wil win easily.

stuff winning by a point I want to win by 60 !

Every week WCW.

Hoping there is no niggle from them.

Enjoy the game.

Plugga McDonald..

We have to get off to a great start. The past few weeks the teams have jumped us by kicking the first few goals.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
