Same thing happened to me in round 1.

I think what happens is that Legends, Tridents and Redlegs are all grouped together as one premium group, and from there it's first in best dressed.

That's how @Demonlandhas been upgraded to N49, and @Cal7B relegated to N52.

Correct. We're all labelled as Priority 1 despite the fact that I assume @Cal7B pays more for a membership than me. Perhaps they should be sub groups Priority 1a, b & c to account for the pay scale of memberships.

This week I'm not complaining. If we win @Cal7B I'll upgrade your Demonland Subscription to Lifetime Member free of charge. Remind me as I'm likely to forget but will honour it.

can you still use a junior ticket? thats all im getting allocated.

I believe so. The other week I mistakenly used the wrong barcode Junior 1-5 instead of Concession for my nephew. There is nothing on the ticket or on the scanner that indicates this so you should be fine as my nephew was.

Back in the day at Docklands there was a screen above the turnstiles that when the ticket was scanned indicated to the attendant whether the ticket was for an adult or child. I assume this was to stop adults from buying a cheaper childs ticket/membership. I don't know if this is still the case at Docklands but it has never been the case at the G.

The backs of our physical membership tickets do indicate whether the membership is adult or junior and some attendants in the premium membership areas check that status when checking whether your membership allows you access to that area.

The mobile ticket that I have for entry into this game doesn't indicate whether my ticket is for an adult and the attendant at the entrance to the premium bays can only see the Bay number.

In summary you should be ok but don't blame me if you are locked up for this heinous crime.

You can literally pick your bay?

I didn’t get given that option. I just picked level 1 wing which is where I sit and got given M14

Did you have to do anything because I'm having the same issue. Lets me get one adult but other ticket is for 1-5 year old.

I just clicked out of the junior ticket it aligned me to and went back into the find tickets page and i click into M51 bay and it picked out 2x seats.

you get that option by first clicking on the ground map, which highlights your choices based on barcode

I swear that didn’t come up. I’m so annoyed because I grabbed whatever tickets I could thinking maybe the allocation will be exhausted.
I wonder if M14 is also a home team allocated bay as it’s coloured the same as the M50 bay I generally sit in

for me the map came up on the left had side (with my option areas highlighted)  the right hand side had the other options you mentioned, on this side you are supposed to just select "reserved general area".

anyway I used the map and clicked my preference (at about 3:01pm so nice and early)

dunno if this helps

I'm more of an Olympic, top deck man myself. But Q29 in ponsford in front of the scoreboard last week wasn't bad.

That's good to know. I'm sitting in Q29 sat night.

Used my free barcodes from my digital membership to get Junior tickets to sit in M51 #winning

Sorry to the 10 Richmond fans who now get to miss out because I got waaay too many tickets ??

I'm a demons plus member and reserved a single seat ticket but cant go now.  Its level 2 Ponsford, bay N29.  Happy to pass on to someone who can attend.  Hope I can say this?  No money involved, I'll just send the digital version to someone who can use it.

Don't get me wrong, I love sitting in N52 as well! I just pay for covered seating and this week I'm in Row C and there is a chance of rain. If it doesn't rain, then great I'm happy. But if it does... well that's 2 of 3 home games this year I've been rained on whilst paying for covered tickets.

Nevertheless, I'm happy to support the club and attend games whilst a lot of the world cannot enjoy these luxuries.

Ticket gone, cheers

Yes it is. m14,15 and 16. Most sit in 15 and 16  ( I am in 15 ) so there are plenty of available seats in that section during a normal home match.

What is that tattoo? As a man with a thin crown I am intruiged

Can anyone shed any light why as a member of 25years I booked 2 tickets yet I had to pay $28 as there were no zero price tickets for members left??? Ive emailed the club though its not them doing this...so who is???

Given a 75k limit, looks like we would be at 55k crowd so far. Still a fair few general public seats left.

Hey all,

I have been lucky enough to grab some AFL membership tickets for the game on sat.

Which means my membership ticket is free, level one in the Great Southern Stand.

Want a Dees fan to have it, So if anyone would like it please let me know.  No charge, just expect you to barrack loudly!

Cheers

I'll think you'll find you ticked the wrong box. I had the same issue last week.- kept having to pay.  Its confusing, but one of the options is free.

now allowed 85k at the MCG so I expect there could be some more tickets available.

Hopefully all those confident Tigers supporters will buy the $70 plus dollar seats and help the Demon cause

why not both OD.

Not sure we're quite up to rolling them yet. More hoping it's a decent dress rehearsal for later in the year.

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?

  • FEATURE: 1925

A hundred years ago today, on 2 May 1925, Melbourne kicked off the new season with a 47 point victory over St Kilda to take top place on the VFL ladder after the opening round of the new season.  Top place was a relatively unknown position for the team then known as the “Fuchsias.” They had finished last in 1923 and rose by only one place in the following year although the final home and away round heralded a promise of things to come when they surprised the eventual premiers Essendon. That victory set the stage for more improvement and it came rapidly. In this series, I will tell the story of how the 1925 season unfolded for the Melbourne Football Club and how it made the VFL finals for the first time in a decade on the way to the ultimate triumph a year later.

  • PREVIEW: West Coast

Saturday’s election night game in Perth between the West Coast Eagles and Melbourne represents 18th vs 15th which makes it a tough decision as to which party to favour. The Eagles have yet to break the ice under their new coach in Andrew McQualter who is the second understudy in a row to confront Demon Coach Simon Goodwin who was also winless until a fortnight ago. On that basis, many punters might be considering to go with the donkey vote but I’ve been assigned with the task of helping readers to come to a considered opinion on this matter of vital importance across the nation. It was almost a year ago that I wrote a preview here of the Demons’ away game against the Eagles (under the name William from Waalitj because it was Indigenous Round).  I issued a warning that it was a danger game, based on my local knowledge that the home team were no longer easybeats and that they possessed a wunderkind generational player in Harley Reid who was capable of producing stellar performances playing among men a decade and more older than he.  At the time, the Eagles already had two wins off the back of a couple of the young man’s masterclasses and they had recently given the Bombers a scare straight after their Anzac Day blockbuster draw against the then reigning premiers.

  • NON-MFC: Round 08

Round 08 of the 2025 AFL Season kicks off on Thursday with a must-win game for the Bombers to stay in touch with the top eight, while the struggling Roos seek a morale-boosting upset. Friday sees the Saints desperate for a win as well if they are to stay in finals contention and their opponents the Dockers will be eager to crack in to the Top 8 with a win on the road. Saturday kicks off with a pivotal clash for both sides asthe Bulldogs look to solidify their top-eight spot, while Port seeks to shake their pretender tag. Then the Crows will be looking to steady their topsy turvy season against a resurgent Blues looking to make it 4 wins on the trot. On Election Night a Blockbuster will see the ladder-leading Pies take on the Cats, who are keen to bounce back after a narrow loss. On Sunday the Sydney Derby promises fireworks as the Giants aim to cement their top-eight status, while the Swans fight to keep their season alive. The Hawks, celebrating their centenary, will be looking to easily account for the Tigers who are desperate to halt their slide. The Round concludes on Sunday Night with a top end of the table QClash with significant ladder implications; both Queensland teams are in scintillating form. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

The Demons hit the road in Round 8, heading to Perth to face the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium. With momentum building, the Dees will be aiming for a third straight victory to keep their season revival on course. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: Richmond

The fans who turned up to the MCG for Melbourne’s Anzac Day Eve clash against Richmond would have been disappointed if they turned up to see a great spectacle. As much as this was a night for the 71,635 in attendance to commemorate heroes of the nation’s past wars, it was also a time for the Melbourne Football Club to consolidate upon its first win after a horrific start to the 2025 season. On this basis, despite the fact that it was an uninspiring and dour struggle for most of its 100 minutes, the night will be one for the fans to remember. They certainly got value out of the pre match activity honouring those who fought for their country. The MCG and the lights of the city as backdrop was made for nights such as these and, in my view, we received a more inspirational ceremony of Anzac culture than others both here and elsewhere around the country.
