Hunt and Langdon were excellent tonight.

There was one moment where Hunt got it at half back and handballed to Langdon on the wing, then both of them sprinted down the wing together with their hair blowing back. If someone could dig out a screenshot of that, that'd be great, I need a new avatar. Think TMac has had his time :-)

3-0 and a lot of positives again.

Viney and Angus got plenty of the footy and more miles in their legs.  Pickett awesome.  LJ with more improvement,.

Too bad we let Toby greene get off the chain for 5 goals but hes a very good player

It was a good win, P2J, but we should have creamed them. As for Greene, he was fortunate up forward as our backs were a little down, I thought. I think we got the shivers and hesitations from the bashings we were experiencing without umpire scrutiny and it needed their attention, not blindness. How Gawn and Oliver put up with it each week is astounding. The AFL does not do positive things when such are needed. LJ did continue to improve and he is becoming a good ruck, who lands on his feet, ready to move and shield. Nice to be 3-0. Gus is getting his game back - see ball/get ball/deliver ball - Viney was physically valuable in tonight's game and not too wasteful with his endeavours.

Solid start boys, Cats are gettable next week for a 4-0 start, bring it on.

No dangerfield and no rohan. One more day for recovery. Some things in our favour.

I am hoping they just beat the hawks (so they are not on the rebound) in a super physical game.

I know many won’t agree but they shouldn’t be singing the song tonight. Stand in the circle, speak some truths and move on.

Always a TROLL!!!

Tmac was back to his 2020 form tonight  unfortunately

I love that we're winning. Let's keep some perspective though: look at the ladder and see where the three teams we have beaten are.

This isn't meant to be a 'downer' post, just a plea to stay calm and take each game as it comes. History is also full of March to July champions who fall apart when it counts.

Because of the expectation that Brown and Weidemann are on the way, I remain cautiously optimistic. The guts of a good side is certainly there.

50pt turnaround after qtr time.

Agree, we cannot carry him awaiting another good game. Petty time, for mine.

It was great until one of the butchered the kick.

There you go. Taken the opportunity and we are 3 / 0, that's unMelbourne like in recent history. It's a beautiful thing. Go Dees

Yep, it was a real pity. Makes the choice easy when B.Brown is ready. I miss 2018 model TMac, but I'm just about ready to let it go now.

Strange though because he was excellent in the first two rounds.

I'm not a fan of his body language at times.

That was the worst umpiring I can recall. And that's saying something

Look at the footage of him after the game, he knows :(

Mate it’s round 3. Teams that have lost at least one game tend to be towards the bottom of the ladder. Saints will play finals for sure

My favourite moment also.

To those who want to 'temper' celebrations and not get over-excited: You do you. I've spent enough weeks in past years being miserable only a few weeks into the season, I'm bloody well gonna enjoy the wins.

Tactically we were very sound after Q time. We weathered the storm of 4 goals straight.

we set up so well behind the ball, the giants could only score on the counter or from blatant errors. Well done to Goody. We have an easy to recognise game plan for once.

I bet you’re fun at parties.

Can't wait to take on the Cats next week. We have them covered. Hope the boys feel the same. A 40-point win in the taking.

Where are all the trade Fritta knockers?

Thought so, kicked well tonight and it’s all gone quiet.

Also glad that Spargo’s grab at his leg didn’t come to anything. Loving the small fwd mix of Spargo, ANB and Kossie at the moment

Lucky the Giants were unlucky with injuries. Giants wanted it more and its good to get a win we shouldn't have gotten.

Ridiculous comment ...you play who is out there ...they kicked some “arsey” goals & if we had kicked some extremely “gettable” goals in the first qrt ...we would have been well in control before their injuries hit.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
