It’s great to have Kozzy, Brayshaw and Viney getting close to full fitness but we have reasonable cover for them. For me, it’s critical we get BB up and running as soon as possible. Relying on TMAC with Jackson/Maxy rotating makes me nervous.

Generally positive news after a couple of weeks of bad news.
Still quite a while til Round 1 and any player currently in the main group would have to be a very good chance to play Freo.

Do we go with Kozzy, Chandler and Spargo in the same team for round 1?
Then Fritsch, McDonald and Jackson the other forwards?

Got Melky to fit in too.

With any luck Melky is done, is goodies love child though.  I think Kossie and Spargo for me with a resting mid, and Chandler/Jordan on the bench for rotations.

I'd be thinking Jetta, and then it's all about respect..

That's the problem Nev is too slow now IIMO and Locky was not great but Bowey was in the B game last Friday. Try Bowey on Mon vs Dogs.

All players are needed to be ready and on the ball from the first bounce on Mon and Round1.

Dont think Hibbo has gone enough and Melky needs a run or two in the VFL to get him ripe for the season and into Some form.

Hopefully we're at the stage where we have the depth to easily cover your Viney's, Picketts, Weidemans, Hibbo's etc...

That's when you know you're a pretty decent side.

Yes and no - take Prestia, Castagna, Riewoldt, Houli outta their side and see how they go...

Good news about Gus and Kozzie, I personally had Pickett outside of the team for round given the lack of training with the squad. This is more to do with him not being able to practice set ups, stoppages etc than anything else.

If he’s able to get a game or two at VFL to press his claim than I’m happy with that.

I’m not overly surprised by the situation with Viney, and Goody makes a great point that there’s a fixation on round one. Hold him back until he’s right and in the meantime we have depth in that area.

Well done to Goody with how he’s felt with Neita and his third knee reco.

They’ve missed pretty much those exact players (Rioli at one stage not Castagna) in both of the last two years and have hung around the lower part of the 8 before revving up to a top 4 spot and flag

If pickett is fit he plays, don't think I've seen many first year small fwds play the type of footy he did last yr.  Is a freakish talent and should be in our B22.

But he has been away from the group for a bit, if that means he needs a week or 2 in the VFL to get his touch or fitness well so be it.  But is our best small fwd by a long way and only in his 2nd year.

As for the others, let's make sure they are right before throwing them in, especially midfielders as we have a plethora of them, so rotate and give those that are injured the correct rehab.

Agree, but the concern for me is that the VFL doesn't start until 17 April.  Horrible arrangement if we are looking for our under-done players to have one or two serious / competitive hit-outs to get them cherry ripe for the seniors.  Same applies to other clubs who have a VFL team as their 'ressies'.

Very concerned about the influence Walters will have on round 1. He was literally the difference in a 3 goal result in Cairns last year and he's touted to be playing predominantly forward this year. Do we have anyone to go with him?

He also kicked 3 or 4 against us 2019.

May should play on him.

And that’s why they’re so good; they can ‘get through’ the slog of home and away before firing up when it counts

No don't agree Hibberd or maybe Sparrow. Not sure myself really.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
