He showed some good signs this year....  we just have so much inside mid depth though that its almost impossible to see him getting a regular gig (unless played out of position).

There will always be a place for an improving Sparrow in the team; he's going to be a 'knock-em-down' backman once he gets physically developed and fit, fit, fit. i like the boy!

I like him to DS56 I think that he will cement a spot for himself in the best 22 even if it is off the bench, you need a lot of good players going through the middle to maintain that hunger and fitness and Tom Sparrow looks the goods.!!!!!

I see Sparrow, Lockhart, Jackson, Pickett and Rivers playing plenty of senior football this year.  Injuries and some veterans slowing down will allow plenty of opportunities.

Young Tom Sparrow can play as he showed this season helping out in the midfield at times and handled himself well. Played the 5 games and  was  more than serviceable.

183 cm is a good size  for a wing position has  opportunities to see him  carving a name for himself in 2021.

Surely young enough to be reinvented or adapted to some other position, (or to displace one of the established inside mids ?) ? 

Petracca probably has to play more forward this year with longer quarters and limited rotations. 

So it could be possible to play 4 other inside mids in the side as long as they are all taking a share of forward or wing minutes and performing well.

The obvious group of course is Oliver, Viney, Harmes and Gus. 

But if Viney and (to a lesser extent) Harmes aren't going to share the ball there spots come under threat. If Oliver isn't going to give up the 1m handballs and actually put the ball on his boot or wear some contact before giving it off then he needs the ultimate coaching move - being sent out of the side. And if Gus doesn't get his game in order and start providing some defensive pressure around the stoppages then get him the heck out of there too.

Sparrow's hungry and coachable. He'll make the big name mids work for their spots.

These youngsters are the absolute future of our Club and their development will mirror our rise in 2021.

That's why I am so bullish about our ability to go to another level with these go to young tyros. They are all hungry and ambitious and to be honest are all excitement machines in their own way.

Hopefully we also add another 4 keen recruits From the draft to start their journey, plus others like Bedford and Jordan especially Ready to take off also.

Our much vaunted midfield unit have flattered to deceive for long enough. If the dysfunction continues then I’m all for giving one of them a spell and letting Sparrow have a crack.

Just seen that snippet of interview he did yesterday and he comes across as intelligent and well-spoken which suggests he’s coachable like you say. I reckon he’s a team first player as well. I haven’t seen enough of him but is he disciplined and defensive minded to run both ways? Take his defensive duties seriously? If he is then straight away it’s a point of difference to most of our current midfield brigade.

as I have said on here before' Plapp has said for some time that the midfield mentioned is not coachable

A challenge to Goodwin obviously because the problems have existed for a long time and it needs to be fixed

Some on here reckon we have a gun midfield I don't until these critical flaws are corrected

Yep, he's got that something (even though he is so youthful at the moment) promising so much for future years. He ain't a Rivers at the same time; I guess I see him as a permanent back flanker with drive and running through the midfield with pace and disposal. Whatever, it is all good. Let's hope that development can occur quickly.

If you believe in omens, I saw a sparrow on the wing this morning.

Dont think so, seems a one dimensional player like Nathan Jones.  Happy to be proven wrong.
