4 teams currently interested. Don’t expect much in return but Oscar very likely to find a new home

They are?

Mitch Georgiades. Tim Membrey. Shaun Mckernan. Jack Darling. The list goes on of blokes that made Oscar look decidedly 2nd rate.   imv the club will look to offload Oscar to anyone who’s interested and maybe get a pick in the 60s or 70s or just delist. But it’s just imv

He comfortably beat Jack Darling.

Zac Dawson was a good athlete who built strength and became a very good defensive player even with limited skills.

Oscar's never shown any kind of athleticism and hasn't improved his defensive ability.

The camera work likely obscures some of stuff Oscar does well but too many times he'll be in good position with his opponent and just led to the ball. If you can't compete you aren't even going to make it.

Zac Dawson wasn't afraid of physical contact either. Put his body on the line on many occasions.

Surely

omcd and pick 63 to Swans for pick 52 Or

omcd and pick 63 to Power for pick 51 Or

omcd and pick 63 to Crows for pick 50

If Tom goes to NSW for Giants or SA for Crows, Oscar can still tag along.

Your taking the [censored] right?

Honestly if a trade gets done I'm not going to worry about a token pick that we won't even use. That's not me wanting to denigrate him but if there can be something done that's simple to get Oscar to a club who'll give him a chance then let's do it and try to make his exit on the best terms possible.

Oscar's actually better off getting delisted and becoming a life time free agent. Trading him just moves the process along rather than waiting for deadlines.

I'm going to take a random guess at clubs just to see how I go.

Bulldogs - always keen for tall defensive depth
Gold Coast - played pretty much all year without a CHB
Port - need a taller defender if they miss out on Aliir
Syndey - if Aliir goes

You really think Port, a top 4 side would take omac? If Jack watts couldn't get a game than Oscar has no hope of being picked up there

Watts could get a game, just didn't want to and got injured. They tried Trengove, Toumpas and Dom Barry as well. They've taken and rejuvenated Trent McKenzie and Sam Mayes and they are in the market for a proper big key defender. I think he makes more sense going to a good side as mature depth than going to a bad team. Bad sides can start again drafting and developing players. A good side like Port needs to have someone step in as depth or to play on the big talls, that's the kind of side that should roll the dice on getting more out of Oscar. They also play a very high press/aggressive zone which Oscar generally does well in (or at least better than when he's forced one on one.

All jokes aside. I actually took a moment and honestly couldn't think of any club that would take him. Maybe north but even that's a stretch

Can't believe I'm saying this but Oscar is way more of an AFL footballer than Toumpas ever was. Probably our worst top 5 pick ever.

I know toumpas was rubbish but he never made me tear my hair out like Oscar does

Toumpas didn't play enough games to tear my hair out because he was too busy being ordinary at VFL level, then when he got to play at AFL level he'd barely touch the ball.

Toumpas or Cale Morton? tough choice.

Cale morton was way better than toumpas. I remember one game where Morton completely took Adam Goodes out of the game

Scully has gone on to be a decent player at other clubs so i think Morton and Toumpas were worse. Lucas Cook pretty average. god it's depressing thinking about our recruting

Toumpas was a rolls royce at under18 level. much like jonathan o'rourke. they were just victims of the game becoming a rolling scrum.

Toumpas couldn't run.  He waddled around the ground.

Didn't have the body for footy, but his child bearing hips were impressive.

Luke Molan says hi back, as does Lucas Cook. I know they weren’t top 5 picks but they were just as bad.

Gosh, fancy Elegt, olisik, Dr. D and Pickett2Jackson all posting at the same time again.

You could be forgiven for suspecting they're the one person.  Just another coincidence, I suppose.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
