Hmmmm... sitting here in my abode in Europe with a raging hangover from last night. I thought it might be amusing to drink large quantities of grape juice from my latest vineyard find.

a small place in the Rhône valley to the north of Avignon called Domaine Rouge Bleu. They produce a Grenache called Lunatique. Seriously, how could I not consume vast amounts?

Hmmmmm, you'll have a raging hangover after this game tonight!!!

I reckon it will be 17 seconds in,when i scream FFFFFFFAAAAARRRRRRKKKKKK

How is it a lame duck game though? There's plenty to play for and we can still technically make it.

I can only assume you're quite a young chap BenF.  I do admire your optimism.

A decent quality shiraz should do the trick.  There's still time.  Give it a decent breather about now.  Then a good old scoffing about half hour prior to the bounce.  This should help dull the forthcoming torment a little.

After that it's just a matter of topping up as you go.  This will ensure the numbness continues till well after the final siren.

NOT reading this game day thread after the bounce will also assist here.

Regards

Sounds like a good find CHF, lovely Syrah in that part of the world too.

They produce some decent [censored] in that area. Some of the froggie's best but .... in reality world .... Aussie [censored] is better than most.

What are the chances we turn up for the fight tonight? Who knows really. GWS will look to pressure us for long enough...they will know our guys will toss it in if it gets really hard.

If we bring the can't be f%$&#d's right from the start then it will get ugly.

Are you taking orders CHF?

The mood/tone of this thread seems more gloomy than usual tonight.

However, the optimistic Bitter would like to remind you ,that it is September and we are still in the game!

How often has that happened in living memory?

beautiful part of the world Rab. A friend of mine grew up in Nairn. Mustn’t be too far from where you grew up?

Hi DD. Fraserburgh, or as we say in our local dialect, The Broch. Like a lot of small coastal towns it's seen better days but the beach is a cracker with a big sand dune the locals call Tiger Hill.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm well and truly primed to have my Saturday night ruined.

It's only ruined if you harbour expectations Wise.

And if anyone here is going to harbour some expectations after the last two games, it will be me!

Seriously though, I'm not expecting anything out of this contest.

Reminding me a little here of the gap between our best and our worst.

You have covered it well without trying fellas.  Bottoms up!

Lever warning up taking a lot of set shots an nailing most of them.

Did he do a hammy while warming up with the boys, GC?

Likewise. It's been a depressing rainy day so this will be the cherry on the top no doubt.

Can we take bets on when the first “ sack Goodwin post will come “.

TBH looking at our side I just can’t see how we can win this. It is a very ordinary side, at least on paper.

Lucky the rest of the day was so great. Sunshine, hanging out with family and friends, going out for coffee.... wait I’m in Melbourne, never mind.

OK peeps. Let's get this over with. I trust we're all sufficiently fortified enough to endure the next couple of hours. If not then you've only yourself to blame.

My money is on after our first turnover for the night.

What is the real kicker is that the weather up there tonight is perfect.  Just rubbing salt in the wound.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.

  • AFLW REPORT: Collingwood

Expectations of a comfortable win for Narrm at Victoria Park quickly evaporated as the match turned into a tense nail-biter. After a confident start by the Demons, the Pies piled on pressure and forced red and blue supporters to hold their collective breath until after the final siren. In a frenetic, physical contest, it was Captain Kate’s clutch last quarter goal and a missed shot from Collingwood’s Grace Campbell after the siren which sealed a thrilling 4-point win. Finally, Narrm supporters could breathe easy.
