Another Covid breach by Richmond

Featured Replies

The arrogance of that club and all involved is amazing. Continually letting them off or penalising them lightly is partly to blame. A monetary fine wonโ€™t suffice in this case.ย

The AFL already putting their own spin on it and playing it down with the headline. They werenโ€™t โ€œcaught upโ€ in it, they were fully involved and subsequently arrested.ย

Jon Ralph just tweeted "Richmond will be handed a second offence breach. Will cost them a staffer or coach next year with a fine of up to $100K which goes into the footy cap. But surely CCJ and Stack have forfeited the right to play again this year. The details

"Unlucky for the staffer/coach you'd say

Surely some poor bastard isn't going to cop the penalty for two knuckleheads who should already be boarding a plane out !

It's what happens when the club leaves the adults at home...andย the kids in charge.

Obviously the message isnโ€™t getting through , perhaps taking premiership points might actuallyย deter this?ย

Seriously what a bunch of imbecilesย

Agree... Balme in Melbourne and how many gaffs by Hardwick and his team.

I'm feckin sick of these COVIDIOTS. Everywhere. Open up a quarantine camp somewhere in the bush and throw them all in together.ย

NO mobile phones. I don't want to hear their whinging either.

This.

Premiership points is the only deterrent. What do the players care about a fine paid out by the club? 8 premiership points puts the Tigers battling it out for a finals spot and impacts their peers.

Perhaps the fine should be taken out of the Total Player Payments and not the livelihood of a staffer/coach.

They will have to spend an evening with Palaszczuk. Can't think of any greater punishment.

Don't forget Gil is up there as well, double whammy

Interesting test of the so called independent journalists in AFL media.

Nothing obvious on the AFL website 2 hours after the story has broken

I think this incidentย really highlights the double standards with which the exemptions thatย the football communityย has received to be able to move across borders relative to the rest of us in society (except those with money and influence). ย Itโ€™s actually just plainย wrong , part of me wants Anastasia to just pull the pin on this season , morally there is something that doesnโ€™t sit right with me that the afl will find a [censored] way to wriggle out of this like they always do, they treat the publicย with contemptย

the afl are arrogant, maybe a harsh lesson is required here

Tom Browne with the scoop. Card declined lolย

Surely Browneโ€™s parents pay Channel 7 for him to work there. He canโ€™t string a sentence together and his grammar is shocking.ย

So Tom Brown is saying the merchant terminal should really be taking the fall ?ย

Propaganda machine in full swing aided by the media. It doesn't matter if they were drunk or not, it doesn't matter who started the fight. The point is why were they out at 3 in the morning in the Gold Coast crook city area. Stop the spin.

Interesting the kebab guy reckons โ€˜not drunkโ€™. Not sure about others experiences, but Iโ€™d find it rather difficult to stomach a 3.30amย kebab after a couple of bags at the strippers!ย

A police officer once told me nothing good happens after 3 am. And a full moon makes it 100 times worse.

Oh come come Deemented you are being far too cynical. Iโ€™m sure lots of sober people crave a delicious kabab at 3am down Cavill Avenue , washed down with a raspberry Powerade . Itโ€™s just coincidental that the kebab shopย happened to be located next to an exotic entertainmentย venue.ย

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.
