Thanks John

i have seen Rohan talking about this on Twitter.
2 voices that are not really suited for radio, but they do understand the game better than most

Where does Fine reside now?

He used to be at The Village Belle Hotel, probably more than he should have been.
Is he back on Radio?

He's not..but he should be. Whether you agreed or disagreed with him, it was listenable. The post-game tripe SEN has on now is gobsmackingly bad.

Woeful and Damien Whoever, following, is mindnumbing. I listened a couple of weeks ago then again Thursday night  (yes, mistake)and the callers, devoid of any knowlege or charisma, were a congo -line of loud-mouthed halfwits. And they don't get cut off. A license to bore me specifically, given I surely must have been the only listener. Then there's an ad for a funeral company. If ever there was a sign to stop listening, that was it.

Adelaide season officially over.

Will be interesting to see if the Adelaide media and followers give them a pass due to the bubble.

Freo and WCE just scraping out of the Qld bubble.

If we had not given them the win in Round 1 WC would be on very shaky ground. I can now see them winning the next 4 or 5 in Perth

considering how the Media said saints so good , what happened today ?

Matthew Nicks makes Goodwin look like Gary Kasparov

Andrew Brayshaw played a very good game. Helped drag Freo up to win. Would have been a very handy addition if we’d had the chance to grab him.  At 20, he’s still developing but showing signs of a top class mid.

Ratts will be a good Coach, don’t slash your wrists over my comments

Goodwin has stagnated for 18 months

I actually fully agree; I've seriously respected Ratten ever since he got the best out of our midfield waaaaaay back in a past era, and with a Carlton-supporting brother I'm very aware of how much he got out of a Blue's unit that was not as good as (ahem) Malthouse convinced the Blue's board it was.

I would have preferred Ratten as the Roos successor and I think St Kilda are over-achieving with him at the helm at the moment.  Although, I must confess I have long believed St Kilda has been right on the edge of being a total basket case and that Richardson did well to get even the couple of respectable seasons out of him that he did.

Stagnated for 18 months is about as neat a summary of Goodwin/Melbourne as you can get.

I hope I didn't come across as mocking the original comment - I was just having a laugh and enjoying the spectacle of what a fickle and unpredictable game our game can be, at it's best.

I wasn’t sure Goffy tbh

I hope Simon gets his act together, but if we lose the next two games, i think he is in real trouble.

do i think he will make it?

Genuinely not sure. The Players effort is still there...

today is massive for him and although it's cliche it is one week at a time

good to see that he's made some changes to the side and sees some of the things we miss - it's more so the people around him that might not be good enough. Goody can be a great coach Mon - Fri, but come game day and when the heat is on you want to be surrounded by those who see the game and can make in game adjustments.

win this game, put it in the book then move on to next week.

Ordinary TV Gaga. The guy with the glasses just won’t shut up!!

I think there's a glitch on the AFL site.  I keep opening the 'live games' tab and the Giants v Power game comes up.

At least as a courtesy to the rest of us they could rename it 'currently occurring' because 'live' implies some kind of pulse and volition.

Meanwhile, only two other games to wait on and we're a good chance of being the highest scoring team of the round.  If the results of those two games go right we'll be out of the bottom four despite having a game in hand.

I've got it on TV while I get sunday-stuff done at home, just heard the commentators say at half time 'every score this game has been from a turnover'.

If that is 1st vs 7th, we're definitely in with a shot this year!

Healy kept putting the mozz on them. Also we saw the dirtiest intentional bump this year so far

Swans tigers - heeney clearly gets hit in the head after his kicked, should’ve been downfield and a report.

BT - doesn’t look like he got his in the head.

My god these muppets are so so stupid. They get paid to be so so stupid and completely miss obvious things.

Is it just me or is anyone else sick of the following line from the commentators:

”How good is it to have a crowd here today”.

Way to keep reminding Victorians that they a) Can’t go to the footy and b) Can’t do anything.

Sydney Richmond game is just rubbish

unwatchable.
turned it off.

Frank Zappa albums are a much better way of relaxing on a Sunday

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
