the AFL are going to keep the Docklands roof open so they don't fall foul of the 100 people inside an indoor venue rule.

Crown casino considers each of its rooms a venue so you just put sets of ten people in a sponsors box and problem solved.

Hhmmm didn’t see that.

there is a commitment in both directions. if it happened it would be the afl contractually breaking their commitment first. It's not a question of a state honouring a commitment but one of whether a contract has been breached.

major effected place is obviously tasmania  and their new confinement rules means it won't get to that stage. this leaves darwin, alice springs and i think bendigo.

But it Tassy denied us entry to the state, or NT dienies us entry..  then surely they'd be breaching the contract.?

CHARTER FLIGHTS, MASKS ON PLAYERS FOR COVID-19 AVOIDANCE

Fremantle players have been spotted wearing masks at Perth Airport, one of the many measures AFL clubs are taking to avoid coronavirus while travelling this weekend.

Six clubs are flying interstate - Fremantle, Geelong, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Port Adelaide - and all have taken or will take charter flights to avoid exposure.

They’ll also be housed on dedicated floors at their hotels.

This is an utterly ridiculous situation. We will have a positive result from an AFL player inside of a week and a half and then the league will be suspended for a month at their own admission.

What gets the league back going again? Right now we should be ramping up testing and tracing and getting on top of this and then starting our bloody football games. What a terrible example for young people who will be the reason we may struggle to get on top of this in the next couple months.

Are others struggling with this? The game is disintegrating rapidly.

I find it a welcome distraction from the constant doom and gloom now being pumped out 24 hours a day.

If anything it reminds me that it is merely a game to be enjoyed. Sure it probably will only last a few more rounds but lets savour it while we can.

Had the same thoughts when they decided to go ahead with the season D_J. I’m glad some are getting enjoyment out of it so far, I’m just left confused every time I read an AFL article and how new protocols are in place after a game. Avoid unnecessary touching after exchanging sweat for 2 hours?

Maybe i just simply need to watch our team again to get back to normality.

Totally agree 'rpfc'...

I think it will be a miracle if we get as far as tomorrow before it's called off.

Players are not isolating themselves, I've seen selfies taken last night on Facebook (not our player but the way).

...and by the standard of the games to date it's pretty obvious that even though they voted to play subconsciously their heart is not in it.

There's about as much pressure as you see in match simulation at training.

That rises occasionally to the level of practice match pressure.

I think we all need to be a little mindful of how we reply to other peoples opinions. For those that are cooped up indoors online chat might be the closest thing to an interaction they're going to have in the short term so slapping them down, even if what they say is a bit kooky, may not be the best way to respond. Just make sure you spell everything properly or I really will start to lose my sh@t!

He's right. It's like being told that it's ok to have morning sex but not kiss the other person goodbye before you head off to work.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the scorching morning heat to bring you the following observations of Wednesday's preseason training session from Gosch's Paddock. HARVEY WALLBANGER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Absent: Salem, Windsor (word is a foot rash going around), Viney, Bowey and Kentfield Train ons: Roy George, no Culley today. MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
