I asked the membership tent on the family day what was the 2020 total to date.

They said the total before the family day it was 33000 approx.

If you wish follow the current figures they are posted on the club website https://am.ticketmaster.com/melbournefc/?utm_source=website&utm_medium=parallax&utm_campaign=2020_membership#/

I thought To Hell and Back is a great initiative and expected to see a response in memberships but in the two weeks that it's come out they have ground to a virtual halt. Surprised by that. Maybe the Club are just behind in posting the latest membership numbers. Hope so.

As far as membership numbers go after last year it is vital to win the first game.

As a fellow pedant I assure you 'fail' is both verb and noun depending on usage.

How do you feel about nimrods who say "I'm bias"?

It really bugs me!  You can have bias and you can be biased, but you can't BE bias.

I'm sure I'm not Robinson Crusoe on that one. However, dictionaries since Samuel Johnson wrote the first one have tended to be records of lexis, not a monitor whose function is to be on top of whatever inane trend is belched into a particular cultural zeigeist. Not being among the cooler kids on the block, I was hoping someone doper (that's what the millenials say don't they?) than I might have an idea.

Just as an aside, the grammar pedant in me would like to know when the noun 'failure' mutated into 'fail', which I was led to believe was a verb?

Epic.

New one on me. Potentially as annoying as tennis players saying  'he played great/good etc'. Maybe moreso since it's meaningless.

How about the horse racing industry?

"He ran good" is often used as well as "She done well" etc etc.

In fact,  the horse racing industry leads the field (no pun intended) with the misuse of nouns & verbs.  Jockeys & trainers alike.

Rugby League would give them a run for their money. From officials through to journalists and those players currently susended for assault the correct use of English is largely optional.

34,579 up from 32,985 a week ago.

So, it looks like some optimism has kicked in among members, as well as memberships from last week's Family Day.

Still about 2,300 behind same time last year but wouldn't be surprised if this gap isn't bridged before too long.

Interesting.  They have shown 'waitlisted' for a while.  Maybe there are premium members who haven't renewed yet and the club is holding their spot open.

Thanks for the tip re Trident membership.  I renewed Redleg memberships for myself and my niece last September so will stick with those.

You missed an opportunity there Luci.

You and your niece might have been fortunate and found a seat next to jolly old uncle Bitter!

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
