That kick to Kossie in the last quarter was unforgivable. Max has zero game sense.

Admittedly he’d just taken a good defensive mark, but had blokes free laterally and also had Steven May screaming at him to let him know. So he kicks long to a contest with the smallest bloke on the park

And then Max takes another make to defend that mistake, handballs to May who kicks it directly back at Kozzie again.  It wasn't just Gawn tonight.  He tried hard.  All of our so called leaders struggled when it mattered most.

Gawn tried. He tries. But his hit outs aren’t to our advantage!!?!?!?!

Who gives a crap about his hitouts.

He flops and then later has the audacity to get in Hogan's face. His [censored] poor as a leader and should be benched for the rest of the season.

The analysis from the Fox Footy crew post game and Gaz in particular was spot on. We have a bunch of blokes trying hard as individuals but we don’t have a group trying hard together. Having a go is one thing, but as I’ve said about Viney previously, it’s to the detriment of the team.

Also, Justin Longmuir said all the things I wish we’d be seeing. He wants to back his blokes to play to their skills and most importantly back each other. There was a lot of filthy looks from our blokes toWards each other tonight

Yep yelling at the TV but it must get back to the coaching group! Max not switching the attack just did my head in. But for some reason we stopped doing that 3 weeks ago, why? Well maybe it is linked to midfield dominance, when we have that we get creative but in the last 3 games our midfield has been towelled up by less talented groups because they are better organised. All goes back to coaching.

And look how that captaincy ended.

Our last great leader was retired by the club before his time.

Leadership issues are endemic on and off the field for us.

Don’t even get me started on that debacle.

I'm loathe to criticise Gawn because he's one of the few players who goes above and beyond off the track and has the credits in the bank to prove it.

But he has a temperament problem IMO. When things aren't going well, he starts thumping the ball from stoppages or trying dinky behind his head taps with no plan.

He's also emblematic of the very problem we're trying to fix with ball movement. He repeatedly doesn't look where he kicks, he repeatedly kicks wide and high, and he repeatedly targets small players rather than talls.

Like I said, I'm loathe to criticise. His gut running, intercept marking, chasing, and (not tonight, but generally) ability below his knees are all elite. He's so much more than a hit out ruckman and he's proven that for years.

Yeah nah not a captains [censored].

I crave for the day we have a skipper like Garry Lyon or David Neitz. Both instilled fear into opposition player with their ruthless aggressive playing style. Not only that, the players played for them. I put David Schwarz in that category also.

Max is just a laughing stock with the way he carries on in front of the camera. [censored] the podcast off Max and focu on hitting the ball straight to our mids.

Directly after fumbling that ball and coughing up the goal goes for the hit out and smacks it as hard as he can, straight to a Freo player. We will be a much better team when Jackson is our ruckman. Gawn is a terrible mix alongside Oliver, Viney and Brayshaw.
