Have a very good non-dees mate who works closely with the local government in the area who reckons this deal is all but done. He doesn't have any details on timelines or costings though. I have no more information and can't vouch for the veracity of the information only to say that I trust his word implicitly. Understand that I am just an anonymous person on the internet so use what ever amount of grains of salt that you need.

Seems to be on the money as a few posters have mentioned now about the MFC contribution required towards the project. Thanks for the information. I'd be interested to hear if your friend happens to know the level of involvement of Kate Roffey as it stands, as I've heard not very positive things in terms of how much the decision makers want to do with her.

It didn't mention our development at all.  More to do with differences of opinions in the location of mounting yards, the replacement grand stands and the sale of Sandown.

i would expect that any plans and commitments - such as those alluded to by @smurf - may be started over

i know there is so much criticism of the board and administration of finding us a home base, but it really ain't for want of trying

The information was from 2 weeks ago. I didn't know this thread existed until today. Mate is OS now but will see what I can find out.

Don't know anything about the crown land stuff. Mate doesn't work for the council. Works closely with them on various projects. At the time he claimed the info was solid. No idea how this news of a board spill effect anything.

I don't know if it would start over.  The way I see it, the attempted spill is primarily for the racing area.

I'd imagine that the centre vacant area strategic plan would still be moving along as it's not mentioned in the article at all.  

Just my guess.

Will have to check it out, only two train stops from McKinnon and I see they do Laksas (my wife loves Seafood Laksa).
