People laugh when I say all I want for Xmas is "No Injuries".

With Jack and Tom back and May and Lever firing, and some Pickett/Bennell smooth moves, what more could you ask?

Round 14 2017.

The night he played a game the likes of Fyfe, Dangerfield and Martin dominate, as we had one of the all time great wins of this club.

Would be amazing if he can return to that kind of form after a (touchwood) finally strong pre season.

Good observation I’d call it. Something you struggle with.

You mean when i observe him changing into boots at the many training sessions I have been to

You need to say hello when you are the next training, observing first hand what happens

I asked him about the runners and got a satisfactory answer

You’re the bloke who told everyone that this time last year the team was going just fine.
Just because you attend training means nothing to me.
I’m extremely grateful for the terrific insights of the other track watchers - just not yours.
Don’t be upset by that, I’m only being pragmatic.

Then put him on ignore and everyone will be happy.  The perfect Christmas win win.

Geez mate. Not need to pot the bloke just because he disagreed with you. Try playing the ball and not the man next time.

Thanks for the tip, Dunk.

I thought Viney looked pretty relaxed at training so far this year especially from the stills and videos i saw

I thought being priggish, but that's me being pragmatic

How hurtful, not and me valuing your insights so highly, that's if you ever post any meaningful that is

All teams look a million dollars in pre season, it doesn't necessarily translate into the season

I thought you as an astute observer of footy would know that

Any reporting in pre season means nothing except the teporting of injury and rehabbing

I watched all the rehabbers work hard to get back in main group and 2 of them finish top 5 in the B&F

There is absolutely no alarm about a picture of Viney in runners, he has completed every session and in the last couple of match sims, it was the Viney of old

It's just a shame you need to find something negative in what has been a good pre season so far

But then again they always are

What if the season turns to [censored] again, we going to say an average of 38 players each session of pre season was the reason

Didn't notice you saying that to the other chap when he started with the 'playing the man' tactic.

2019 was a pretty average season from Viney despite him playing the most games in a season yet. He barely had an impact in any games and had his worst statical season in 5-6 years.

Hopefully with more time on the park over the coming years we can see a return of the 2016-2017 Viney that won more ball, laid more tackles, kicked a few more goals and made all his teammates walk taller. He was pushing towards elite across those seasons and was having a huge impact on games. The game away against West Coast in 2017 was a prime example of him bringing full intensity, notching up 39 disposals (despite missing a quarter with injury) and laying out their captain with a huge hit. Same in the Hawthorn game where he got 30+ disposals, but more importantly 15 tackles to set the tone and setup the win.

If we see more of that 2017 Viney, it'll help immensely with our poor infield leadership and to help our midfield become dominant again.

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
