They say penicillin cures Sisyphus these days.

Anyway, the stories of Syphilis flying too close to the sun are apocryphal.

Personally, I try to leave no turn unstoned.  Happy Birthday to Keith BTW, a young 76 today and doesn't look a day over 90.

Hes put in a solid couple of weeks training.  He should head back to WA for the holidays and let his hair down.

Hit the bars and clubs and show them your still king of Perth, Harley!

Hogan: (thinks) that sounds like a challenge!

He’s being well advised IMO. This is his last chance to turn his career around and make a decent living from the sport. A return to WA and a single poor decision could mean that it’s all over.

Maybe he is not being advised. Maybe he can make his own decisions, because, well, ,you know,  he knows where his career is at.

Opportunities can work two ways, positive and negative. Giving yourself every opportunity to succeed is one way. Removing the opportunity to [censored] up is another.

Bubona is the Roman cow Goddess who watches over and protects cattle.

Does she protect calves too?

Seriously though, this seems to be an indicator of his desire to leave no stone unturned - IF the fatted (or unfettered) calf comes to fruition then we could have unearthed a gem at little cost.

Not quite sure how my post morphed into what your post quoted mine as saying?

I'm starting to see the synergy. Hedonism at its most extreme.

The cave of the Golden calf was a famous night club in Pre World war 1 London .

"The Cave of the Golden Calf was a night club in London. In existence for only two years immediately before the First World War, it epitomised decadence, and still inspires cultural events. Its name is a reference to the Golden Calf of the Biblical story, an icon of impermissible worship."

"The building became a post office and can be seen in the background of the cover of David Bowie's album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars"

Absolutely loving the journey this thread is going on. I've never ever resorted to Dr Google so many times in a 2 page thread.

I know as the saying goes that you make your own, but surely we are due a bit of luck for something to turn out all right for once.

Can we somehow work the Illuminati into this... or does that only apply if we were to recruit Mason Cox without having to pay anything for him.

I googled the golden calf and illuminati together and it took me to some very strange places.

Could we save the Dees by writing  a new Dan Brown like novel?

In Hollywood you can hit it big by registering story lines for movies.. don't even have to write much........

I’m all in on Harley, he’s up for it so give him the shot. We need guys with a point to prove.

  • CASEY: Richmond

The winds finally returned to Casey Fields for the Demons’ third home game of the VFL season, and its impact was immediate. After two opening rounds played in uncharacteristically fine conditions, the Anzac Day clash brought back the familiar gusty conditions that have been a feature of the region at this time of the year.
Forced to kick into the breeze first, the slow-starting Demons faced a tricky opening against an enthusiastic young Tigers outfit. Casey responded by turning the contest into a scramble, pressuring Richmond into errors and missed targets. The tactic proved crucial, keeping the game tight for three and a half quarters before the Demons pulled away with the autumn wind at their backs.

  • REPORT: Richmond

It seemed as if the whole purpose of the Anzac Eve clash at the MCG between the Demons and the Tigers was building toward that single, unforgettable moment when Kozzie Pickett soared above Campbell Gray and all but fittingly etched his name onto the face of the 2026 Frank ‘Checker’ Hughes Medal.
