Was passing on what I was told, will try and find out more context for you or maybe a rough time. Stand by...

Was in the first 45 minutes of the show and was a few passing references to MFC chasing him apparently.

The fact that Yze is at Hawthon learning the craft under Clarkson excites me more than the fact that he is a Melbourne man.

I'm excited by both.

I  would be very confident in saying that firstly, he would be great in the coaching department and secondly, Yze was always going to come back to the MFC after his playing career when such newer skills, to him, were developed so that he could make a positive input to the Club we all love. By hell, he was a good player and for just that alone, could remedy our team across the summer.

Adem’s kick off the ground goal in the final quarter of the 2000 Qualifying final win over the Blues one of my favourite moments of all time.

Lyon was around for 5 minutes while Jimmy was sick. Don't distort the truth.

And yet, in that 5 minutes look at the damage he introduced.

Supremely talented as a player but also very cerebral.

His positioning in contests and knowing when to jump and when to get front and centre was sublime. He was also able to play a range of positions, half back, midfield and close to goal.

Would be a good fit and a great mentor to guys like Fritch and Trac

I think most on here couldn’t care less about the romantic notion of him coming home and would be more concerned about getting someone who has worked closely with Clarko.

But his ties to Melbourne are what could draw him back.

I went on the Daniher Drive last year to raise money for MND and Oooze was there with a host of other past players including Neitz. I can tell you the bond is strong.

The Ooze chastising a player for a lack of defensive pressure may even satisfy Alannis' pedantry!

Clarkson is the best coach of the modern era so he has been learning from the best at tactical innovation and getting players to understand and implement that tactical innovation.

Too right. Being lean and mean, himself, a lightweight-easily-knocked-out-of-position type forward- mid-fielder -backman, these positionings of which you refer, and his jumps timings, and his nouse of 'when to kick the ball earned in general play' were magnificent so his teachings to guys like Fritsch and Tracca, and Salem and Oliver/Gus would be invaluable. Of course, mental acuity would form part of that learning - something that our 'game plan' seems to lack.

The ideal candidate to help all our one sided players with their deficiencies....oh wait.

You're all going to @ me but I was never a fan.  No right foot, selfish, and worst of all, he wore a glove ?

But you can't be an assistant to Clarkson without learning a ton.  Should Yze be hired I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Hawthorn made themselves a premiership factory specialising in left footers dg.

Have you a link to said FB group?

People have said don't bother, but I am not so interested in a review, I'd just like the link (a FB search yield unuseful results)

The Facebook page is "Melbourne Demons News." Be careful what you say though, Stuie is a bit of a control freak. Oh, and don't post news before him, he'll block comments on your post so they can only comment on his post about the news shortly after.

Huge difference between us and them - their left footers could hit a target.

Like i said, if Yze was hired and a huge success I'll happily cop that I was wrong. But I still hate the glove ?

How do you feel about Jack Mueller, the original glove man?

(Besides the four premierships and three BnFs.)

Jack's alright - had a reason to wear the glove ?

Just an ordinary home and away game, but I remember him taking a massive pack mark in the goal square against North in 2002 to boot the winner on the siren.

Loved him ever since.

This 1 sticks with me at 14:10 from the boundary during a rampaging comeback during the 2002 semi final.
Had me redlining bigtime.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
