Atleast we'll get a pick sooner than Norf & Siddy next week. We should go for another dumb, slow, in and under with poor kicking style type to complement the rest.

Yep. As the years have gone on I have become more and more detached. This club is such a disappointment it’s hard to keep caring.

Lowest half time score by any team this season. Melbourne keeps breaking those wonderful records.

And to think I planned my September holidays around the finals fixture ??

Im not far behind.

Seriously wondering why I am paying a membership at this point.

Our midfield is getting destroyed.

I don’t know what the deal with Brayshaw is but he needs to be either rested or sent to Casey cause this is a joke performance. Viney not much better.

Must be short and unable to take overhead marks.

This is the outcome you get when you don't complete a full pre season.

Farmer and Robbo walking the boundary

perhaps they should be playing

rather them than some who do not seem to care.  Take some angry pills Melb

Kane Cornes is saying his usual stuff about us on SEN which frankly we need to hear more of internally - there's something way off about us all year!

Having watched him on tv the last couple of weeks (whereas I normally watch the game live), and he is just not going into contests. Refuses to bend, tackle, or raise his arms. Can’t break out of a jog.

I am going to assume he is injured but not badly enough to give him a rest considering our injury list right now.

Doesnt explain whats happening between the ears.

all those useless high bombs?

a) we're hardly getting it in there, high bombs or not and b) as you pointed out, they're useless.

I get that we need "reasons", but thinking that we're getting slaughtered because one player wasn't selected is over-the-rainbow.

We're getting slaughtered because half our team is out, and has been out since the beginning of the pre-season, and everything that flows from that.

Correct. This is what happens when you do jack [censored] planning during pre season.

Agree, but we have been miles off all year. Teams have also worked out our stoppage work and lack of leg speed around the contest.

I would move heaven and earth to get Ben Brown. Our forwardline is an abomination alongside the rest of our team.

What a flaccid, unlikeable, heartless mess of a team the Demons are in 2019.

The players don't care, they're not playing for the coach or the fans.  How do you go from 100 points a week to 1 goal in a half?

It's like our mandate was to assemble a bunch of blokes with the lowest possible footy IQ and kicking skills the AFL has ever seen all on one list.  Shocking recruitment. Gawn, get out while you still can.

This is the reason Misson is no more.

Pay him out and set him free, nothing but a liability.

Jeffy 1 kick. Pathetic

He needs a long jumper. And while you're at it bring out trackie pants. He's getting cold.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
